I’m planning to host regular live streams (events, workshops, and interviews) and I’m confused about which live streaming platform to choose. Should I go with a free option that limits control and monetization, or a professional platform that offers better quality, branding, and revenue options?

I'd stick with YouTube. It's safe, convenient for a random person to find you and well-known.

Youtube, Twitch and Kick.
Initially, you can be active on all platforms simultaneously.

If you are focused on high quality, strong branding, and monetization options, a professional platform is the way to go. Free platforms are great for casual streaming, but they usually come with limitations that could affect your growth and branding in the long run.

If you are serious about building an audience and earning from your streams, a professional platform makes more sense in the long run. Free platforms are okay for experimenting or occasional use, but they come with limits on branding, control, and income. For consistent events, workshops, or interviews, a paid platform offers better quality, more flexibility, and real monetization options, which makes the investment worthwhile.

I’d say start with YouTube or Twitch. These are the most popular platforms, but it depends on the audience for your events

yes you are Right. I can say some of the professional platforms like VPlayed, muvi, kaltura, uscreen. VPlayed is highly customizable. fix your goal and plan accordingly.

You can reach a wider audience and still monetize by embedding streams on your own site, using simulcast tools like Restream, or hosting paid access via memberships or LMS platforms.

Many people don't think highly of Facebook, but for me, it's still a good place to live stream.

Twitch is the best provided you don't violate the rules on the platform.
