Hello

My website's rankings have suddenly disappeared.

It doesn’t seem to be related to a Google update, as the last update occurred about a month ago, and I don't think this is a delayed effect.

The site is about 5–6 months old. Could this sudden drop be caused by the Google Dance, or is it a penalty?

When I checked GSC, there are no manual actions or penalties listed.

I’d appreciate any insights or advice!

For reference, my rankings were fluctuating around an average of 5th position on the first page and seemed somewhat stable. However, two days ago, all my keywords started gradually dropping in rankings, and then suddenly, they completely disappeared.

Did you only experience a drop in keyword rankings or are there other/new keywords that jumped up in rankings in place of your lost ones?
If it's the latter it's a simple rank reshuffling but if it's the former it's very likely you have some form of penalty.

The main keywords for my website were fluctuating between 50th and 5th positions, which seemed like the result of the Google Dance.

Additionally, the average rankings for local keywords on other subpages were consistently between 1st and 5th positions. However, all rankings for both the main website's keywords and the local keywords suddenly dropped.

I can't figure out the cause

You have to check what has dropped exactly. Maybe your page has been tagged as low quality and dropped afterwards, this is some sort of shadow ban. The only solution is fixing and improving quality and then praying to see if Google happens to reevaluate your site in the future.

If you need help on fixing quality, check for quality guidelines in the forum

There are more to say before people can suggest what's likely to have happened.

New or expired domain
Types of content and quality
Backlinks profile
What kind of site
Etc

It’s unlikely to be a quality issue.
The content isn’t extensive, but it’s composed of unique, original material.

My domain is 5 months old and focuses on adult-related keywords.
As for the backlink profile, I believe it’s better than most competitors in this niche.

Try not to depend on Google traffic, because nowadays it is impossible to have a stable ranking, it is the AI that controls the ranking of websites every day the ranking changes.
Google was good until 2022, after HCU update, everything changed. Even websites with unique content is dead.

That also happened to my adult website. Until now, my keyword has fluctuated between positions 1-3, competing with well-known adult sites like Pornhub and Xvideos. However, last week, my keyword was pushed down to page 8. The Google search results are now filled with spam gambling websites, news sites like The New York Times, university pages, and Quora. Come on, Google, how can you show gambling and news sites when people are searching for porn?

One my projects is facing the same issue. It even had slow and decent link velocity. I wonder if I should continue building the link profile but don't want to throw good money after bad.1741008541937.png

Capture the main keyword

I've almost recovered the ranking of the local keywords, but the ranking of the main keywords has not yet been recovered.

Yes, all of them. But I tried to vary their content as well.
This has to be the reason 100% both of my websites which dropped completely I was using ai meta titles and meta description google seems to shadowban users who use ai to make meta titles and meta description
