I understand why this rule is in place, and in most cases I agree that members shouldn't be able to open a dispute resolution about sellers if they haven't start dealing with them here.

That being said, there are companies (mostly ad networks, I have a few examples that I'd be happy to share privately if needed because I don't want to call them out here) with "official" representation here that get complains very often, yet, there's nothing anybody can do about that because they can't respond on the thread because then it becomes a support channel, and the member can't open a dispute because they haven't started working with them here.

This results in situations where companies with very poor customer service are represented here on BHW, and other companies can't really defend their name against public complains.

We only have visibility over our small piece of the internet, so we decided to review only what we can see when it comes to dispute resolutions as outlined in our process here https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/dispute-resolution-rules-procedures.1246633/ . If the transaction didn't start on BHW, we don't have a way to verify the validity of any claims raised against a brand or member therefore we won't be extending the dispute resolutions scope any further beyond transactions that happen on BHW.
