so i found a youtube channel where they post viral content, i downloaded their video and put my watermark on it...i got views
so yeah...i guess copying people is the easiest way to grow a channel i guess xD

Well it can work to some extent when the creator itself does not mind it's channel growth through you.
But you can't base your life waiting for that copyright strike now can you?

I mean for me, if i upload content from other channels, I would have to credit to the rightful person and also put my handle in for people to subscribe in. But yeah I have apparently seen channels such as ESPN, Sportcenters, etc (those big sport network) uploads content from tiktok directly to youtube but credited in the title/caption

Good question. They didn't notice about it. If it were a tiktok creator but someone re-uploaded it to youtube, it would take some time to get his/her followers to start being aware of the specific channel that are stealing or re-uploading their video. For youtube, it would be the same.

The only issue will be you will work hard to grow the channel and then somebody will send copyright strike and the channel will be taken down. If your taking videos from other channels, add some kind of transformation, like simple commentary, adding stock clips or images in between the copied video.

Your shorts have to go viral in order to grow a channel and doing this won't get you a viral short.

You're better off remaking the short you want to copy and altering it a bit so it has a chance to go viral, although the odds of that happening is still very low.

No offense but are you aware of where you are right now? This is a blackhat forum—fairness isn't exactly the main theme here. If people are already copying content, adding a watermark is just another step in the game. Expecting 'fair' in a space that thrives on bending the rules seems a bit out of place, don't you think?
