From my father's small CARGO business to building my own successful business!

Hey BHW, Petar here! I'm 19 years old from Macedonia and I want to share my journey to building my own successful business with like-minded people like you!

I first started working in my father's small freight bussines when I was 9 years old when he started the business with no employees and without his own office.

My making money online journey started 5 years ago, I made my first bucks sending fake traffic to Trovo streaming platform back in the days and made my first 100$.

Then I started making thumbnails for youtubers and started learning more about graphic design.

After that I started my creative agency making designs for local businesses, making a few hundred dollars a month, nothing too serious. I still run the creative agency to this day.

And about a year ago I started learning about e-commerce and opened my own shopify store selling Chinese products here in Macedonia.

I bought the products from Greece and smuggled them to Macedonia, a bit criminal but it is what it is :) .

Also about 3 months ago I went to Turkey to find textile suppliers to sell clothes here in Macedonia, but the prices were very expensive, so I found a local supplier with a good price and started selling t-shirts online.

Right now my creative agency is still active and makes about a few hundred $ monthly, and my shopify stores for t-shirts and Chinese products.

Currently, I moved from my small town to the capital city to study graphic design.



My goals are



1. To take my creative agency to the next level.

2. To buy a Porsche Panamera in 5 years.

3. Create a successful clothing brand in 1 year.

If you persist and give it your best every time, even when things get tough, I’m sure you’ll get your first Porsche in 5 years—or maybe even sooner!

Where am I now?

A week ago I sold my DTF printer and saved the money for further investment.

Last month, I made a net profit of $1300 from selling Chinese products in my country that I imported from abroad (more than $600 in one week). I'm investing in e-commerce products and I've reduced my focus from T-shirt production, so now creativity and efficiency are much greater in two areas, design and e-commerce. I hope that I have chosen the right solution in that I have reduced the burden and focused on two things and therefore the efficiency is greater in those two things.
 
Where am I now?
Apologies for the silence in the recent past, but now I have something worthy to share. I have been doing what I previously did, without making massive changes, just refining this strategy that was working already. The results speak for themselves.

Here is how my Shopify account looks as we inch closer to the end of 2024:

Online sessions: 10,947
Total sales: MKD 438,280.85 or about €7,110
Total orders: 341
This year has been very successful, even with minimal adjustments to my approach. The focus on e-commerce products and design has proven to be the right choice, and I’m eagerly looking forward to what 2025 has in store. assd.png
 
As many of you know, I’ve been balancing university and building my business from scratch. This month, right after New Year’s, we achieved something big – we generated half of last year’s total revenue in just one month. That’s approximately €3,600 (MKD 224,264.90) in sales, and this is only the beginning.

But I’m not stopping here. I’m currently launching a second online shop, specialized in a single product (more details coming soon). This progress is a huge motivation, but it also brings a serious dilemma.

Should I, despite these numbers not being huge yet, drop out of university and fully commit to the business? I want to go all in, take the risk, and push this to the next level, but it’s a big decision.

What do you think? Would you take the risk or wait a bit longer? Let me know.1738593807863.png
 
You're generating some good income already. It's all up to you buddy.
In your case, I would take all the time off, weekends, and extra spare times to work on the project. Me personally wouldn't just drop out from these bumps. Get sure you can pay the bills correctly and spare some money aside.
I have always chosen crisis mindset. Me personally, If I have money for 1 whole year to have home & food, I would go all in to the project.

I get your point, and that’s exactly what I’m doing—I’m putting all my free time into the business. My e-commerce is already generating stable income, and while it’s not huge yet, it’s growing in the right direction.

The main issue is that my university costs me €3,300 per year, plus rent and living expenses in other city. On top of that, I’ve already mastered graphic design in practice, so I’m questioning whether it’s worth continuing or if I should invest that time and money into scaling my business instead.

I’m not making any rushed decisions—I’ll finish this academic year since it’s already paid for, while also focusing on business growth. By April, I’ll see how things are progressing and decide whether to stay in university or go all in on the business.
