1.no one can tell you what Google thinks.
2. Clean domains will provide no benefit, but it will not hurt to start with 5-9$ to see what it will bring.

from my experience
once the whole content and Gtaareis changed most of the metrics are reset
a domain that is older than 2-3-5 years with a good track record can help you with passing a few restrictions, though they will mostly be selling for more than 50-70$

If the domain is clean and relevant then I don't see any realistic downside to it. If you are unsure about the domain though you could be better off going with a new domain.

Check the content history and the backlink profile. If you see nothing untoward you are probably fine. You can try to get some traffic history if it is available, if you see lots of traffic and a sudden drop off while the content didn't change then it may have been deindexed but if the traffic only dropped as the domain expired then, again you're probably fine.

50-70$ domain will do nothing, you want something strong my man look at the SERPs. Also, make sure to restore the site like it is coming back to life and grow it as if the old site is growing. You want to use a sensible approach with aged domains, if you change the site or do things that are different, that is when the domain will get flagged. Good luck!

From my experience, it is even advisable to do so (even if it's rumored that google doesn't like it). You need to make sure that it's clean and/or in accordance to your niche (You don't want to set up a website with a clean niche for organic google traffic purposes, while this domain has many old casino backlinks pointing to it, bad neighborhood past, etc).

If the domain hasn't been penalized or there are no existing domains irrelevant to your niche then the aged domain could have higher authority and google might view it more favorably. Since there are a lot of "ifs" it's kind of a gamble. Use some of the available tools to check that domains history.

"Aged" domain will be good only if it has a good history and is relevant to the niche of your money site. Checking the background of domain is very important here.

If you can verify the domain has a clean past, I don't see the harm in purchasing an aged, trusted domain with an indexation history.

i personally would stick only to freshly expired domains (< 1 year), niche relevant, totally clean with good authority/link profile,
matching all of the criteria is not as easy, but surely worth going for,

domains expired any longer will go through sandbox, not ideal to go with,
using irelevant domains is just risky, you might get penalized & losing the domain value overall,
and domains with weak link profile have just no use, no real advantages with these
