What do I do with ClickBank?

Hey.

First of all, about 3 days ago I started an affiliate site for a ClickBank product.
The problem is that I bought some PPV traffic which will become active tomorrow.. BUT.. Tomorrow I'm going on a week-long vacation in Egypt, so I won't be able to access my computer or check stats.

However, I just heard that ClickBank is really messing up with sales and everything, and I really feel like I'm going to return with zero sales even if I got loads.. Which really annoys me.

So my question is: Should I:
A) Trust ClickBank and hope I'll return with a few sales, and if I do then keep going with my site as usual
or B) Try to cancel my PPV thing which will become active tomorrow, and then find another system like Commission Junction (which I never tried) and then finding a product to sell that is exactly like the one I'm selling right now, and then selling that on my site instead? My problem is that the domain I bought is very targeted, so I need a product like the one I'm selling right now, but I haven't seen one anywhere else.

Also, another question: Let's say I wrote my own eBook. What's the best way to sell it? I heard a name of a site the other day, but now I've forgot it again. It was a site that you pay 5$ monthly and they take care of everything. Does anyone have suggestions?

I'm pretty new to MI and all, or well, I've been reading guides for many months now but never taken action. Now that I finally did, it seems I hit some bad luck.
So.. What do I do with my site and all? Suggestions / tips would really be appreciated.

I am using Clickbank as a vendor and affiliate since 2001 and I never had any bad issues with them.

But that doesn't mean you will make money with your affiliate site while you are on vacation. It depends on how targeted your traffic will be, how good the product is, the quality of your affiliate site, etc.

Thanks for the help guys. I just let it keep running, but unfortunately, the PPV company I used (Clicksor) wants to confirm with me over phone now, and since I'm still in Egypt I can't proceed.

My pageviews dropped from 147ish to 2ish per day now, still not indexed by Google.

Clickbank is my sole source of income and has been since I quit my job 3 years ago, and I can tell you this:

Untargeted traffic leads to conversion rates upwards of 1:10,000 visitors...if you're lucky.

Invest the money you're spending on PPV on something that is going to lead to long to term results, even PPC (which at least allows you to get targeted traffic...real targeted if done correctly).

Three things you can do for instance, are...

Article Marketing - this will give you targeted traffic (with lots of backlinking)
SEO - this will get you targeted traffic(also with lots of backlinking)
PPC - this will give you targeted traffic

If you want targeted traffic you should start with PPC and not with PPV.

Then do it! It'll take you a couple of hours to write a bunch of articles and upload them, then you can see the results for yourself. Seeing your own results is much better than listening to anyone's opinion, imo.

Look into e-junkie.com for selling your own product, as well as paydotcom.com - both work with paypal and host your e-product. Both also pay you differently than clickbank does (e-junkie is instant payment on each sale) Paydotcom might also have a product similar to the one being sold on clickbank, but for some reason paydotcom products tend to have crappy landing pages. The other downside with paydotcom is that the creator of the product has to pay you manually, as opposed to clickbank and ejunkie where the affiliate automatically gets their cut.

If I use something like e-junkie and someone requests their money back for example, what would happen to my sale? You said they instantly pay me out through PayPal, but does that mean they can also take my PayPal money to pay back the costumers who wants their money back?

I lost a LOT of money over Christmas because of Paypals $10 chargeback fees and because I put out a shitty product on DP that got a lot of returns. I lost more money than I made, as a matter of fact, and don't know the solution other than jacking up your prices so that your profit margin is pretty wide and you can cover a lot of chargebacks with a few sales. Lets say you charge $10 for a product but a chargeback costs you $20. That's risky. I'd say don't charge less than $30, because if you have a charge back rate as high as I did, you could still turn a slight profit. My chargebacks were *all* due to "unauthorized purchases", which I find hard to believe. There are other providers - regnow.com and payloadz.com, but I think that the solution is to find a good alternative to paypal, don't sell it on DP, and/or make sure your product is amazing.

Don't over think! Just start with something. And then learn by doing. It's very important that you take action now to create momentum.

Huh? Does that mean that you can sell a product for 10$ but if the costumer wants his money back then they take 20$? That's lame. Can they just withdraw from your PayPal like that?
