In the office I use a desktop - reason being is that I have more processing power, more RAM and more drive space at an affordable cost and also that I can connect to 3 monitors from the desktop.
When I am working away from the office I use a laptop - reason being is that its easier to transport than a desktop :)

If I were trying to answer the question for you, as to whether you should buy a desktop or a laptop I would make the decision based on whether you work from one location (home/office) more than you work from different locations (away from office/travelling) and that would dictate which is better (desktop or laptop).

Decided to go with a desktop. Reason being I work from home (in one place) and it will last longer than laptop.

Mac mini + iPad = all covered for YEARS
PC's are disposable devices that go obsolete in no time.

Macbook. I like to work outside so no need for a Pc. Nowadays laptops got so powerful that a desktop is not really needed anymore, even if your a hardcore gamer

What a weird question

Didn't you know that all IM pros work from a fishing boat somewhere somewhere in South East Asia, with a Cryptobro neighbour?

You cannot have a desktop in a fishing boat for sure.

I use a I7 macbook pro, and a mac mini m1, both are connected to my docking station with a 40 inch monitor + a 32 inch monitor so dual monitor mode. This means i can leave my m1 at home doing stuff if i need it to, and bring my laptop everywhere and still have "that office feeling"

I recommend of course a laptop but with a larger screen size!

Hi,

Both Laptop and Desktop .

Never used a laptop for longer then 30 min without hating them. Desktop way faster way more comfortable to use. Productivity is much higher on a desktop. A high performing desktop can barely keep up with my needs, a laptop would have no chance and would overheat within a hour. Laptop is probably great for anything casual but if your serious about using it you'll want a desktop.

For more casual stuff I just use my phone.
