Do you think DUPLICATE CONTENT is a Myth in SEO?

No, duplicate content is not a myth in SEO. Duplicate content can harm a website's search engine rankings and visibility. Search engines may penalize or de-index websites with duplicate content, leading to decreased traffic and potential loss of revenue.
To avoid these issues,
it's important to have unique and original content on a website.
where did you got this info from?

For quora I can say duplicate content doesn't work as they collapse your answers and even delete that answer. It happened with me 2-3 times after that I have stopped copying content for quora

you tried it with aged account?

My first account was 3 years old with 20000 monthly views that got banned because I added amazon affiliate links.
Wow, this never happened to me and n their TOC they never say they are against affiliate links.

it happened me 3 years ago when I was not in to digital marketing and someone said you have a lot of views and why don't you add amazon affiliate links related to books n all and you can earn a lot. SO I added link to all the questions and after 1 hour they blocked the account. ANd I have asked them to unblock but they told it is against their policies

A lot of sites ranking locally use duplicate content. They have been on top for years. No punishment or deindexing whatsoever.

Better not to use duplication. In my experience, this is more likely to cause headache than profit.

I would also add my thought on this subject.

It is not a myth. In my opinion, even a couple of duplicate sentences can have an impact on search engine rankings.
The whole problem is that google can't tell exactly by date that this or that page shouldn't be ranked, yet the DMCA works fine.

Consider the situation that happened to me. I had a site that dropped out of the rankings in a failed experiment with relocation, and then I faced the problem to return it in the output just because of the duplicate content, provided that both pages were indexed and both are not ranked. That is, it caused harm to both sites.

The month before the experiment my site was not ranked at all because every competitor there was trying to steal content.

The conclusion I came to. A site with duplicate content can get ranked, but if you stole content and your page began to rank, then you hurt the other site (it can be used for blacklisting). The same conditions with the links, if the page link is ranking for key queries then your site will get a dope to ranking.

I don't think that's the case.

what google is telling you is not the same ho wgoogle is thinking...
See zillow and trulio sites both have 95% same content on it and have seo seo rankings, they never got any google penalty in the past till today.

They had "slightly" rewritten their content on these sites, sligthly means 10-15% rest is 1:1 the same.
The google dystopian rules and guidellines never give us clear answers, but they give us a lot of "gray space" loops ...so read them carefully, to find these loops. Within these gray -hat -spaces, you will not get penalties. (also doing blackhat but in the right way...)

Yes, because they have shit ton authority links

Ok when I have shit tons of authority links then google allows me to have 95% same content on my multiple domains?
What a irrational logic my friend. I wonder where such irrational logics coming from today?
Google not saying this in their guidelines: "When you have a shit ton of authority links (what is a shit ton?) then we allow you to have same content on all your multiple domains"

I'm good at thinking deeper, but not always get an answer.
Maybe you find good hidden/ secrets of such topics in dark web with TOR?

On some acadamic studies pdf you will find interesting stuff about this topic or others like digital marketing, but they are not easy to understand.

When you want having multiple domains for same niche, but several services you offer and avoiding 1.1 content, then you should have different content on each domain. Like you have 6 multiple lsi keywords on one big pillar content, spread it through 6 different domains, this is the only way I know to prevent getting double content penalty.

Or spread these 6 lsi keywords through multiple subdomains, or have all on your root domain with category pages, remind category pages are great but it would be hard to rank for broad keywords like sport, marketing, etc,etc you get the idea. The same with lsi pillar content and having multiple domains based on your lsi keyword list.
