Made 1170$ But ...

A few months back, I got an email from Pinterest to join their creator reward program, so I did. (they discontinued the program now on 1 December)
I made a total of 1170$


Buy When I tried to cash out, I found out that the program is for US citizens only. haha
So I can't get that money out.

I tried anyway to get it out by supplying false info. So they suspended my payment account and told me to contact support.

It hurts; why would you invite me to join if the program is for US citizens only?

Contact over the support , explain them how hard you earned , might release the payment , did you link any account over it ? if yes then appeal to them over

You placed the horse before the cart. Do as they have instructed you. You might be asked to do some verifications. Hopefully this time you don’t submit fake docs.

Thought about it, but I am afraid they will terminate my Pinterest account.

I couldn't because they were asking for identity verification first, which include name, address, SSN and photo ID

I guess payment information too would've have been part of your registration process.

However, since that wasn't done, you will need to contact the support and whatever happens you take it from there.

But you might need to head-over to READ the terms and condition again. (I know good number of us don't read this when we register on websites).

If the T & C says otherwise, you can be rest assured your money is gone, but if its silent, then you can have some hope when you're contacting the support.

Contacting the support first is not the issue, just need to read and understand the T & C first, and whatever happens, that is where you are standing.

There are US citizens living in many other countries. There are lots of US citizens living in Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, etc, etc, etc. It indeed would hurt when one works hard at something and later realize that one does not qualify for it's rewards/payouts, I can feel that.
Especially nowadays, companies/platforms like to make things tricky for it's users when it comes to any rewards/payouts.
However, let this be a learning curve, to always take enough of time and read all the fine details before venturing into any project(s).

In order to create a US entity you can apply for EIN, ITIN or company formation. You will pay some but you will get remaining money. Go to fiverr.com search EIN, ITIN, Company formation. Beware of scammers.

@markos87 did not qualify (for that payout) due to not being a US citizen. What has that got to do with creating a US entity ? Do you think that by creating a US entity, one gets US citizenship ? If you think so, then you are badly (and sadly) mistaken. Creating a US entity or company DOES NOT make one a US citizen.

Please understand, @markos87 did not qualify (for that payout) due to not being a US citizen. Setting up a company or entity, getting EIN, ITIN, tax number is immaterial in cases where it is stated that to qualify for abc or xyz, one needs to be a US citizen.

What about personal EIN, ITIN or tax number? He can find some. In fiverr.com they provide within days. In addition he can hire a postal mailing address and telephone number.

I can't sell the account because I use it to get traffic to my website.

I shared the post just to tell fellow BHW that sometimes you need to read the TOS or you just end up working for nothing like me

Well then why they ask you to join the program if you are not from usa ? It was good to make them money but when the time to pay the payment ,they find out that you are from usa ? I found this tricky way and i dont like it ,they should not contact you and to lose your time
