Then you need to rethink again.

Thanks for this, I’ve already done this: The first page is filled with 30-40 DR pages ( rank 1-4 ). After that a 7 DR ( rank 5 ) and 20-30 DR ( rank 6-12 ), all with not many backlinks.

I’ve found a com.domain which contains the exact keyword in it. I think I’ll go for that directly

That looks like a very hard keyword for a new site. As someone has already told you, better focus on long tail keywords that are easier to rank.

Check locally just to make sure that it is infact easy to rank and if so then go for it, make internal linking to other pages and social media

The keyword is easy to rank and is in a foreign language, so if you can churn articles in that language, you can surely start getting traffic soon. Better get a domain with .de extension

You'll have a lot of work if you focus on simple, short articles. Write long articles with long tail keywords. Use frase to better optimize your content for SEO. You will need it. And also get a .de domain.
