So I sometimes get some customers who frown when I ask for payment in crypto, as though crypto is only for lowlife criminals. Wonder what such type of people will say now when even Google is ready to accept crypto. Never wise to stand in front of a moving train.

Google never ever banned crypto. I have been searching for various things directly related to crypto, since many years and I have always been seeing crypto related websites and crypto related news articles in Google search. And I just did an in-depth research about whether Google ever banned crypto : Google never ever banned crypto.
[Quite often, effective comprehension skills are critical to success in internet marketing].
Google Ads is another story please : Google Ads has always had a RESTRICTION (even at one time some ban) on crypto related ads [but we (OP) is / are NOT talking about Google Ads here].
And by the way, the news is that Google is to start accepting cryptocurrency payments for its cloud services (through a partnership with cryptocurrency exchange company Coinbase).

Good news for diamond hands
You can advertise Crypto on Google Ads under some rules, since "ever".
The great news is that Google is starting to accept crypto payment on Google Cloud from Coinbase gateway. It's just a natural movement in the USA for big companies to keep on top, Google and Coinbase.
The better move would be if these companies started to accept payments directly from decentralized wallets, which I expect hardly happens ;-)
