if you're going to suggest localcryptos, hodlhodl, bique, been there done that. the sellers there are assholes, they won't deal with a first time buyer (if I deposit cash in someone's bank account, there is zero risk to them. I don't know why they are such assholes)
people on craigslist are jackasses. I have contacted several people who claim they will give bitcoin in exchange for cash, but they all wasted my time.

if you have any ideas I am all ears but I feel like I have exhausted all options.

I have been thinking about this, but all the sites that I know require you to hold your id and take a selfie, you can't fake that. unless there are sites that just require a photoshopped ID, I am not aware of any.

there are atms in my area but they require a phone number. now you will say use a burner phone, but if you carry a cell phone with you, it communicates with cell towers and "they" always know where you are. now you will say take out the battery before you get home, but how would I charge it? and it's getting harder and harder to find cell phones with removable batteries. then there is the issue of having to change the phone number every time I need bitcoin. I dont want the same phone number to be buying too much bitcoin. I don't know man, I don't trust these btc atms, call me paranoid but I think "they" get a report every time you buy bitcoin.

about your other solution: that's a smart idea but my issue is not what I am doing with the bitcoin, my issue is the fact that I am buying bitcoin to begin with. I dont want "them" to start asking questions "why is he buying bitcoin?" not doing anything illegal and the amount is probably not enough for "them" to care but these days governments harass innocent people and ignore real criminals.

Got it. Then the best solution for you is to work for it. That way you don't have the filter. So freelancing paid directly in crypto or mine the coin.

In the meantime you spend the money you have now set aside for purchase.

Buy small quantities of different coins on different exchanges then convert them to monero or piratechain or verge using DEXs. And convert these to BTC again using DEXs. There are so many exchanges(DEXs) which have no KYC requirements. You can find some of them here.

So first of all, your assumption that "Cash transfer to bank" is secure is absolutely not true - I have bought and sold more than 30 bitcoins on Localbitoins the last few years, and several times i have lost money because someone is sending money from a hacked bank account, and the bank will take it back...

Now to solve your problem. What we do here in Denmark/Europe on this problem, is to trade via FB, we have trading groups in Facebook, where we find other buyers/sellers and then make a meetup, and do the transaction.

Your problem regarding your burner phone. First of all, unless you are a terrorist or high level drug dealer. Then you have to much paranoia. Again unless you are very profitable drugtrader or a terrorist, you will not get tracked on a burner phone to the level of pointing your out. Get an iphone, turn it off withn 5-10 km of your home. Dont install personal apps on it. And then you are very much secure. Just keep it turned off when you are at home, where you can also charge it. If you are paranoid enough, put silverfoil around it when its turned off.

But again, you need to be a really bad guy for police to start tracking your burner phone.

I got to know about it last year and it seemed promising as it had combined safety and privacy features of Komodo, Zcash and Monero. You can read more about it on its official website and subreddit.

What is your favorite non-KYC exchange right now?

I've used evonax and bisq in the past, I sometimes use Kucoin w/o KYC (2 BTC limit/day) because of volume. I've heard good things about tradeogre, and boltz. Good thing about bisq and boltz is that they both support TOR and boltz even has an .onion address.

Edit: One more would be swapzone. And you can use orangefren to check best rates on various DEXs.
