Because one member got mad at me because i do...

He said it disrespectful. Im just wondering how many of you will actually confess up to using adblock

I voted yes but may I suggest a "depends on site I'm visiting" option? Or something like that. I guess many ppl have whitelistst like I do. Actually I block most ads , but always allow ad*sense cause it's not annoying, and always block javascript included from an external domain. Rest depends on the site i'm currently visiting.

Hope that makes sense lol :)

i guess i am also disrespectful lol
this is a must addon for ff!

yes indeed. How do you edit a poll?

That "member" is me.

It's hypocrite if you want to get into peddling CPA business, wanting to get people to sign up, at the same time, you don't host any web sites, yet, at the same time, you don't want to see their ads. I considered these Adblock user types to be fraking a**holes.

My sites are very expensive to develop and to maintain. I even clicked on BHW Yahoo ads as a contribution, on top of my Donor membership.

Jeez - you got balls to create the topic here.

even better, now im a disrespectful fraking a**hole :D
do you think, if i don't use adblock, i click on ads? you're completely wrong, it's my right to use it and it's your right to say what you say about adblock users, i don't care much
sometimes i disable it and click on some ads, but most of the time i don't like ads, so i use adblock
i say everybody should try adblock at least once, there's two different worlds with and without ads, i think you can guess which one i like more :p
i don't understand why need balls making this thread...

Honeybird - you're doing fine, because you're being reasonable on using your judgment when utilizing Adblock on your FF browser on certain sites.

My attitude toward 100% pure Adblock users is very strong because I had a nasty firestorm with Wikipedia politics last year regarding the use of Adblock detector script on my sites, which give me the dim view of these fraking a**holes out there who think that everyone should be working for free.

Let me make this simple: If you enjoy the sites out there, feel free to make a contribution - cash or whatever, depending on your conscience. I made my donation to BHW because it opens my eyes on how to improve my cash flow, which my $97 donation fee is already paid back few days after implementing BHW ideas to my existing sites.

If you have no conscience, then you're considered as a FRAKING A**HOLE.

Yes I have it activated, but sometimes I switch it off and click an ad to be supportive :]

i feel much better now, i have conscience :)
so the wikipedia politicians tried to force you to remove the detector script? and you said fcuk no, that's why the firestorm? and i have to install an adblock detector script blocker, if i want to visit your sites without ads?! :D

HoneyBird - you're cool.

Yes, I removed adblock detector scripts from my large site last summer to appease Wikipurists (which allowed my site to be restored into their special code) after they removed my site because of that. That special script code allowed my site to expand to over 200+ Wikipages (PR8-9) automatically. Nice traffic coming from these 200 links.

On Christmas day (2009), my site is booted off again, saying that I am not big enough compared to other "4 big guys". (I know it's BS - as I suspected that one of that guy is a competitor.) I was sooooo pissed...and was not sure what to do as I did the whitehat way (14,000 backlinks in 6 months). Because of that, I switched to dark side by joining BHW, which is considered as my revenge to make up for the loss of valuable linkjuices.

Thanks to BHW, I have regained my backlinks, plus much, much more (cash flow, ideas).

...

I only contribute to those sites where I find the ads

1) Not annoying

2) I like /alot/

Unfortunately, I feel clicking on other people's ads is a waste of the money for the advertiser. I never buy anything. So I'm going to keep using AdBlock 'cause it doesn't really benefit anyone to have click through traffic that will never convert.

Honestly I have ad block installed in my FF, but I only use it when I'm watching anime online, and thats because I've already donated to that site, and don't care to have 100 pop ups hit me while I'm trying to watch a show. Other than that, I don't have it on cause really there is no point, if I am going to visit a site that I like, i'm more than happy to help them out, ie. clicking a popup, or signing up via a spare email address. I guess it comes down to personal preference.

Honestly I see no reason why not to help out others, but hey thats just my nature.

Cheers

Its not a big deal if you dont click on peoples ads. i mean really when you get on facebook do you click on all the facebook ads?

Portalweb? Do you like seeing all these ads?

i used to use adblock but now i don't any more.

it's not out of respect for the site owners.
i also don't ever click on the ads nor do i intend on ever buying anything from them.

it's solely so i can keep an eye out for good adsense layouts.
if i come across a web page that has their ads set up in a really clever way, or has some really compelling ad copy, i'm stealing it :p

Yes, I do..to study these ads to understand the effectiveness, and then improve it on my own on my sites.

If you don't study these ads to learn about it, how can you be effective in making money from ads (PPC, CPA, etc.) , as you asked me earlier on how to make money from CPA marketing?

That is where I draw my line, when dealing with 100% Adblock purists out there, such as you.

I use adblock. I wouldnt when there arent such stupid webmasters that bombard you with popups. Some even with non-closeable.
Does any of these webmasters think this clicks are something worth? Even when tricked in clicking its nothing worth because I wouldnt buy or fill out. So the webmaster only gets a bad conversionrate. Which hopefully leads to getting banned. So let me say... I protect this webmasters from being banned. They should say thanks.

And people that use adblock in the most cases are experienced users that wont click on ads anyways.

Clicking on ads as donation isnt a very good thing in my opinion. The conversionrate isnt rising with that. And when you have a good affiliate-program they will lower your income per action.

And if one webmaster thinks he wont show me his content when I have a adblocker then I doesnt need his content. Or when did someone here paid for one of these forums where the look at the answer costs you an dollar? There are always alternatives. So this kind of webmasters and websites are zero to me.

Its like when a tv-station is yelling that people shouldnt be allowed to go to bath in the ad-break and shouldnt switch the channel.

i used to but since i make money with adsense i need to see what ads shows up

How would I be able to check on other media buyers if I was using adblock!

People who use FF with Adblock represent less than 5% of the users visiting my sites. I reckon this to be the case for most other sites. I used to block content from them, but now I don't bother being so petty. It also causes ill will from your visitors.

I believe that most people using Adblock are for the most part too cheap to convert anyway so I am losing very lilttle from their actions. Of course, if Adblock becomes more popular and more than 50% of my visitors start blocking it I would have to revisit this issue.

Personally, I seldom use Adblock. I only switch to FF and turn on Adblock for really annoying sites. In the past several years, I can think of several times when I have clicked on an ad and actually bought something I found useful.

I am sorry god , i use adblock :(
