Hey everyone,
Do you think an online pharmacy that can accept only crypto be successful?

Might look sketchy to some, but if you build some trust I don't see why not

Yes you can accept only crypto but how many customers will you loose for that?
I guess a BIG amount

I don't think the time has come already... At this stage, you would still need to put so much effort to explain how it works, to gain just a little number of loyal customers.

The time will come, though.

True. But I just want to work with loyal customers and I have a unique selling point. Maybe people go with it? I don't know...

Less than 10% of users will use crypto to purchase something, so you would need to have large volume or customer base. I had a digital product store where paypal closed our account, and only 2% of purchases were through BTC after paypal was no longer an option.

Wow! I wasn't expecting 2%

Credit cards are not an option anymore. So, can anyone think of an alternative to Bitcoin?

So you say it is neither easy nor safe?
Yes. It is neither easy nor safe. For Someone who isn't actively involved in crypto to b able to pay with it, it requires them to:
-> set a crypto wallet.
-> buy some crypto from an exchange.
-> process the transaction.

Plus, as a buyer they don't get any of the security like Chargebacks that their bank offers. And you, as a merchant don't get any of the security like Fraud Detection or Automated Tax Filing through your Payment Processor's documentation.

Would be a nice option to pay in crypto but I assume you accept credit cards right?

I was accepting credit cards, but many times in the past Visa cancelled my merchant account or I was ripped off by payment processors. So the site is on hold for now until I can find a stable payment option.

Trust plays the role here, and according to me you cannot reply on crypto-only payment mode when starting it out, first build some trust, then it may work but on the other side, people may find it fishy. Also, Why would all payment processors will cancel your account? I don't think so, pls ask them the exact reason, work on that, and see what happens.

MC outlawed non-accredited online pharmacies in early 2000's. Visa did the same thing around 2013 I guess. So, the payment processors who offer CC to online pharmacies are doing so by skirting Visa's regulations right now. And when Visa finds out, they cancel the account eventually.

You can't do much then, do one thing, when you redirect to the payment page, before that, show a notification, and mention the reason for not accepting cards. I hope most of them will go with the crypto payment.

I am actually asking the same question...
I have founded an online pharmacy that only accepts crypto (BTC, ETH, SOL, AVAX, USDT etc...)
With an affiliate program for marketers...
But I wonder if it can succeed ?
