Making money crypto with 10-20% fluctuations?

~17.25% as of right now.

Here is the abandoned project of mine, and archived data.

i9S17DD

He bought the dodge on an upswing. Im talking buying on the downs only.

Because its a rare gem which gives a 20+++% increase during a bear market. And even when one does, its super temporary.

But 10-20% they all seem to, again and again.

Your project there is quite large in size. Why you quit with it?

Im thinking of trying with $2k. Thats half and half, 2 cryptos at a time.

If any of them crashes, then i hodl it. This is why id only play with top 50 cryptos. The risks of any of them crashing and staying crashed forever are quite minimal, the way that i see it.

And especially if i play this now, while its a bear market, the risk is so tiny, almost non-existant, assuming shit doesnt blow up and a bunch of top cryptos just drop dead... or all of them. But if that happens we have bigger problems to worry about.
The important factor is when you should get of the transaction. For example, I've bought something last year, and sold after a 50-100% pump. But that coin did like 1000%. And I had the same capital as you on that coin.

I've quit after a few losing trades, and lost interest. But I will probably get back to it and see what else I can improve.

Also, another thing, when coins pump at different times, and you are stuck on another coin, is stressful. The best way is somehow to approximate when you think it will pump and be there only a few days away.

I understand yeah. But i cant be praying to the crypto gods for 1000%.

Im agnostic, gods are never sure of my devotion, and me of theirs, so they dont do me no loves.

But that 10-20% margin dance seems like a pretty safe and consistent headshot one could be hitting.

And if you sell a crypto at a 10% profit and it ends up doing 1000%, well, never get emotional about crypto. Stick to the plan.

If you have time, play with Binance data, and see how many times those 10-20% occurred.

I dont have time right now. Im on the Devil's island.

Maybe when i escape and return to my castle :D

It seems doable with your technical analysis skills and the right information

People do earn money in these ups and downs. There are clear strategies that incorporate Technical Analysis, Support Lines, Resistance Lines, etc, personally, I use Horizontal Lines for this kind of trade.

Note also because this kind of "sideways movements are riskier, people use this strategy with good risk management, for example, I got 1000$.

There are clear invalidations in this type of trading strategy, those are when the lines are broken from the upside or downside depending if you are longing or shorting.

Also, good risk management is needed for this kind of trade, especially if you do leverage trading ( Which I don't recommend ).

For Example, I got a 1000$ Portfolio, and I am willing to risk 2% of my portfolio. For example, my Entry is at 3.20 my trade is broken if the price goes below 3.04 that means:

Portfolio Total x Risk \ Stop Loss Percentage => 1000$ x 0.02 / 0.05 => Meaning i will enterthat trade with 400$ and risk losing only 20$.

Also, I manage my risk, if the trade goes well and I go up by 5% I move my Stop Loss - Sell Price to the Entry price, so I have no risk... Etc...I can make a bigger thread if someone is interested...

So mainly if you do make a script, or you do try to trade these 10 % 20 % fluctuations, it actually all comes to risk management and knowing when ur trade fails...

If you have some good investments over like 3k to 5k dollars , then go for long or short , but at same time its gambling , you shot or shoots , its up to your luck !

Anybody making money with the 10-20% fluctuations in crypto?

I ask because, bear market, bull market, theres a constant 10-20% up and down fluctuation in almost all cryptos all the time.

So if you start with $1.000 and sell at a 10% profit each time, it would only take 10 successful sales to profit $1.000. And 100 sales to get $10.000.

Or.. you can start with $10.000... you see what im saying...

Looking at the charts right now, youd get XRP or NEAR or ETC. Theyre all down about 8% in the past 7 days.

Im only looking at the top 50 coins or so, because if you get stuck on a coin that just isnt getting you that 10%, you can hodl it and long-term probably still come out on top, and sleep at night.

So go ahead, throw shit at me. Whats the flaw in my flawless thinking?
It is hard to make overall profit with this approach. When price starts rising, you will never feel like selling and all of sudden it will crash and you are in loss.

You rack a disciprine!

Yes, this can be easy done with a grid bot. You set up a pair and a range and bot buys low and sells high.

You can use kucoin free grid bot or pionex free grid bot or bitsgap paid bot. With bitsgap you get paper trading, back testing and support.

This is doable but you need the right entry price. Every timeframe moves up and down throughout the day. By using a few indicators, you can stand a better chance of succeeding. For the newbs, I would recommend going on Trading View and using the following indicators to check best entry price:
CM Super Guppy - it'll show the general trend
Stochastic RSI - great oscillator that will assist with entry. Basically, when it's oversold, jump in and when it's overbought, sell. Google how to use it.
Boring Indicator - this is actually pretty good - it tells you when to enter a trade and when to sell. Sometimes it gives the sell signal a bit late which results in not selling at the top. Other than that, it's a pretty decent indicator and will help prevent losses.
Always use a stop loss - I've learn the hard way. It's better to lose $100 with a stop loss rather than $900 without one!!!!

A few weeks ago I was thinking about the exact same thing and planned to create a bot for this:

CHECK THREAD HERE

I'm still interested, but not sure if I'd go with the top 50 coins.

You need a bot for this where you just copy-paste the token contract in and let it work for you, that constantly keeps the eye on the price fluctuations and executes the deals from the BSC pool given.

Some random shitcoin I follow goes up and down around 7 % within a few days.. it's just a random utility coin that constantly pops out news about development progress via their announcement channel (never no major news either tbh) so my main factor in choosing those tokens would be utilities that will be worked/built out over a period of time.. that guarantees the fluctuation of the price regardless of bull or bear market.

Yeah but... Okay on another thought my "strategy" here may be better served only during a bear market where things are down and dance 10-20% day in and day out.

During a bull market its kinda fucked because you can end up getting stuck with something you overpaid for for a long, long time.

But when everything is down, and it probably wont go much downer :p it should work.

I was just about to ask this same question you did because I've been thinking about this a lot the last few months. I don't know shit about the companies and people behind the coins. All I do is watch the market trends and I noticed it too. It's always going down by 20% and then about a month later it goes back up by 20% give or take. So it occurred to me, why not just buy when they are all down and then sell it off when they go back up and repeat this process. The more money you invest, the more you make back but of course the fear is always that if you put in too much money and something shitty happens and you lose it all.

But here's a few good examples. Cardano is a legit and solid coin. It's not going to just go to $0 next week or next month (99%).
So if Cardano's low is around 80 cents the past couple months and it's high is about $1.25 then when it hits the low 80s, why not buy up $300 or $400 worth. Then when it goes back up to $1 or $1.15 in a month or two, sell it off and keep your profit of about $75 or so. Then just wait for it to drop again to low 80s and buy up some more.

I kept track of other coins like Avalanche which hits lows of 60s and then hits highs of $1. Could avalanche hit 10 cents or 20 cents again? Sure, but not likely. It's going to keep bouncing between this 60 cent low to $125 high range and maybe eventually even hit new highs. Same with Solana and few others.

So right now, I was thinking the best time to buy Cardano is now. It's back to low 80s. I bought it a month ago at mid 80s and sold it off at $1.07 and took a small profit cuz I only spent like $200 bucks or so on it. But now it's doing it again so I bought another couple hundred bucks worth of Cardano and I suspect in a month or less, it'll spike back up to $1 - $1.20 range and you sell it off again.

Matic used to always bounce from $1.40 to $2.15 every month or so and it did this several times! I kept track of it but I never bought it until recently. Unfortunately Matic hasn't been bouncing back to the high $1.90 ~ $2.25 range the past couple months. It last hit over $2 back in Feb 9ish so I had bought a few hundred bucks worth of Matic at around $1.45-$1.70 waiting for it to hit $2+ and sell it off but it's been a longer wait than I expected.

Same with ALGO. Algo was always bouncing around low 60s 70s and hitting high 90s and doing this a lot every few weeks. It's very low right now but I'm thinking it's bound to hit the 90 cents to $1 range again as it always does.

I went off the board a bit and decided to buy up some CELO. I noticed that CELO is at around it's lowest right now but at $2.74 it looks like it's going to eventually bounce back to it's usual $4 to $5 range as it does this every few months. So just buy a lot of CELO right now and wait 3 or 4 months and watch it hit $4-$5 again (double your money). So if you put in $200, then only $400 (+200) but if you are more daring, put in 10K and get 20K (+10K profit minus fees).

I think we are thinking about the exact same thing and I'd be interested to talk to you more in DM. Actually, I've been wondering why more people don't actually talk about their results and share. It's like people are scared to giveaway their 'secrets' or 'winning formula' OR they really aren't sure so they don't want to say anything. Of course, I don't know anything either and can't guarantee any of this works but on paper, it does keep dropping 20% and bouncing back 20% so why not buy it up during bear like now, and sell off in a month when it gets bullish at +20% up. Then repeat this again when it goes bear.

Another thing I'm interested in is the people who have made claims or predictions and keeping them accountable to their word. Then over a period of time like 1 year or 2 years, we can actually see which people have a good track record of being right and which people pretty much are unreliable and got everything wrong 99% of the time.

Thats exactly how i do. I make like 25% per month.

But i use 3k. And i stake sometimes... Atleast if price dont go up

I asked this a while back too about LUNA. A couple months ago I noticed that LUNA was always around $45-$50 range. I was thinking at the time to buy some just because I liked the name LUNA and it reminded me of Luna the cat in Sailormoon my favorite anime growing up. LOL. Yeah, I don't know the company or who the people are behind it. I just looked at it cuz it caught my eye lol. I was going to buy a couple hundred but instead I decided on Matic, Algo and MANA. Then a few days after I put in a grand, I saw the markets tumble because of the Russia Ukraine war and crypto all went down big time like 20-30% drop, however, oddly enough, LUNA was one of the only few coins that actually skyrocketed for reasons I do not know why. It literally doubled to $95 in just a few days. Ever since then, it's been hovering around $90 to $110 and I was so disappointed I didn't buy LUNA when I thought about doing so. I would have at least doubled my investment in that short time lol.

So if you start with $1.000 and sell at a 10% profit each time, it would only take 10 successful sales to profit $1.000. And 100 sales to get $10.000.

Or.. you can start with $10.000... you see what im saying...
Now look at the contrary. If it keeps dipping 10% repeatedly for a long time, you're left with 90%+ loss. Be realistic, don't be blinded by possible profits.

In futures Binance you can win even in a downtrend with shorts

Yeah but it doesnt matter. This is why my idea is to do this with long-term Hodlable coins only.

Say i do it, and i get fucking Cardano, and it goes down by 99.9% and stays there for 10 fucking years. I dont care!

Just as long as on year 11 it shoots back up to where i purchased it and adds a 10-20% on top, im good.

The only loss is if it goes down 100% forever, or doesnt return to my purchase price before my death. In this case, yes, i lose.

But say i do this and hit 5 cryptos at a time with $1k each. Its not likely 5 of the top 50 cryptos will go down and stay down forever.

And ill never enter a crypto with one of the $k's if i already have a $k riding on it.

Maybe im paranoid, but maybe theres a method to the madness at the end of the tunnel.

Also, im not thinking in making millions. Taking $1k and turning it into $10k without busting my ass, even if it takes 6-12 months, the ends are met like a motherfucker :)
