Where Do You Store Your Private key

I wonder what is the best place to store your private key where all your money on those 12/24/25 words
I tried to put it in the library in one of the books but forgot which one is the one
don't want to put that on my bank
give me some creative ideas

I have a couple that are just stored in plain text on my tablet and one is written down on a post-it someone on my girlfriend's desk at the moment. If it ever got to the point where it was a significant part of my net worth I'd probably split it between at least two wallets and store them in safety deposit boxes.

I've heard of some elaborate stuff like burying it in a field but I don't get the point.
 
i usually throw it away and I'm playing Russian roulette.
keep things safe or lose em.
 
The safest place is a piece of paper stored in a secure place. I would recommend making 2 or 3 copies just in case you lose one.
I personally store my seed phrases on my password manager, which is encrypted and requires 2FA. It's basically unhackable.
My funds are stored on different wallets, exchanges and CeFi platforms, so that if something happens, I would not lose everything.
 
just write it down, roll it in some foil and plastic bag and bury it somewhere
 
I encoded it in a way that helped me memorize it and is easy enough to decode.
 
I got bored, so I went crazy and came up with an idea.

It goes a bit to the extremes, but nevertheless, this is how it goes.

Create (or find) long mathematical equations that contain the admired strings (either letters or numerals), and come up with a fixed rule in how to find them.

One idea would be to create an expression with multiple variables. Then, assign the given variables numbers that you will not forget, e.g. your birthday. The value of your expression then works as your rule.
Lets say that the value of your expression is 749825. You can now come up with different 'sub-rules' in how you use your rule, for example, you can use your string of numbers as an index - The first letter/numeral of your secret is the 7th symbol in your equation and so on...

The crazier, the better. I can assure you that no one even bothers to look at the non-sense for more than 5 seconds.
And the best thing?
You can display it as publicly as your heart desires.
 
I have a laptop running a fresh lubuntu installation with an encrypted hard drive. I use the laptop only for crypto (no software downloads, etc)

I created a seed phrase with this laptop, then encrypted the seed phrase in a text file and backed that up in several locations, including some in cloud storage.

They'll tell you never to store your keys online, and that's probably good advice if you're not tech-savvy, but its safer than storing your seed phrase exclusively in physical locations. After all, the most common way people lose their crypto is via losing their keys.
 
I encrypt text file with my seeds then i hide it in some ordinary jpg/png then store it in external HDD :)
 
Offline, mix some obvious elements (recognizable for you) within the secret key which you can filter out but someone else can't.
