My suggestion is to give it some time. You started less than a month ago and aren't doing any link building to boost your authority. IMO, you need more time and content to succeed, so it's too early to tell.

PS: What kind of competition do you have in your niche? Any established sites with strong link profiles or topical authority?

I'd say hold your nerve on this one.

I've an idea, at least part of what's going on is, that Google has a "budget" issue with reporting from non-english language serps.

Patience is a virtue here imo.

I started a similar, micro journey, with a tiny twist about 2 weeks ago and things are looking pretty good atm.

Site is being crawled, pages being indexed, impressions and clicks (mine lol) being recorded.

You have to realize your source is ENDLESS. You can end up getting 10 000 UV from google alone in a few months.

I would still do it niche based. At least get an edge if you are still at it.

Hello everyone, i decided to open a journey about my new website I created today in which I will publish translated articles as many as I can and see if it ranks,

I will do it all manually, I will use DeepL for this website.
Goal: Translate and publish as many posts as i can and try rank on google
Translation: From English to another language
Total cost: 8.5$ for .com domain, i already had purchased hosting for another site.
Keyword Research: none, i will translate the whole article + titles
Reason why i am making this thread is to keep myself focused on this site and get motivation.

I'm not entirely sure, but I'm starting to think there's a problem with 200+ articles posted in a matter of 10-12 days.

From what I've read, you published 24 articles in the first 24 hours ( or was it 48?).

How many articles are sitting in discovered not indexed?

I'm doing a test like yours but on a different language and sticking to one niche.

Domain was indexed 2 months ago, basically just the /cgi-bin stuff, it was empty.

Did WP install and posted just one article today. Will not post until I see it indexed. Or maybe post a new one in a week if it doesn't get indexed by then.

The reason I'm asking/talking about this is, I see Google is becoming more and more problematic on how it handles spam, and indexing. From what I THINK, it has to do with the domain age, and content velocity.

I know the language I'm translating to, and I saw a lot of errors from DeepL. Errors that wouldn't have been picked up by someone who is not a native. With images, and editing, it takes me about 25 minutes for a long article to polish and publish.

Considering the amount of english content out there, the possibilities are endless. The only problem is when one starts, as I see Google being picky about indexing stuff it doesn't even read.

I tried finding success stories with translated content but there is none. Similar journeys are either abandoned or failed. Usually they get deindexed.

Who was the German dude that succeeded? Was it @MediumPimpin ? His journey had a promising GSC screenshot, but he disappeared from BHW 2 months ago, so I'm assuming he got deindexed too.

In my blog i have published 420 posts in less than 2 weeks. About 40 posts can be found doing site:domain but gsc coverage is showing only 6 valid. Im still posting daily but less frequently. Also i will be doing changes to articles making it more random.

You are right? Thats why i stopped for now publishing more content, until i am done interlinking all of them and then i will start with 4-5 articles per day.

Nope its not that guy, i saw the journey long time ago and the guy doing it made x.xxx$ but he automated the process of translating and had like thousands of pages. I dont know if the thread is still alive around here. He was translating from english to german if i remember correctly.

That was my idea too, translate as much as i can since most of the articles wont rank for anything but i think overdoing it like translating too many posts in short amount of time can be seen as spam by google. So decided to stop and do some interlinking and then translate more slowly

I doubt that its to many posts. People ranking 5000 Posts+ after starting out (botting content) and get it indexed.

You just need to be patient.

I think the same that its still so early to say whats going to happen. In most cases it can take months to rank at all

I actually works really well. I couldn't login anymore for some reason so I couldn't be bothered to update. I don't come here a lot, sorry.

I will post some updates but I have very little news to tell. It just works. I'm doing many sales. My biggest sale has been 82 euros.

We're starting on some similar projects now as this opens up a lot of possibilities. The content is unlimited. Just need the right niche and the skills to make a good site.

I think most people here think it doesn't work because they simply copy a text, put it through a mediocre translater, put it on their site and that's it. I actually spent time on it.

Hey, I'm glad it's working for someone. Looking forward to your update in your thread. If you don't know what to tell, just a screenshot with traffic, updates on revenue, number of articles.

No no, I fully translate it and then go through it to make sure it makes sense and is readable! Sometimes I hardly have to alter the text. Usually it's 95% ok already. I spent more time on making the page nice. Adding pictures, headings etc.

I don't mind posting some traffic stats but I see no reason why I should post how much it makes me.
It does sales, it works. How much I make with it is irrelevant because it will be different for every site/niche/product.

Oh, it's just that usually people share revenues in these journeys and since yours is the only successful journey at the moment that uses translated content, I think a lot of people are curious if it works and if it can make money like a blog with original articles. I know it's relative depending on niche and so on but all blogs start with a few cents/dollars so it would be cool to see growth over time, like if you're making $100 per month now, you could update when you reach $500/mo and so on, a lot of people see value in that.
