But before you actually jumped into self-employed territory.. I assume you already had something going on right?

Did you wait for your side gig to earn more than your 9-5 before going full time on it?

Going self-employed is always the bravest thing one can do.

No. I had a part-time job shortly before I became self-employed, but it didn't pay much and I had to leave it suddenly to raise my sister as the job was being unreasonable about my work hours (among several other issues)

If I had a choice, I would've most likely maintained a regular job whilst I started my business.

1 thing that you never ever want as self-employed is being stuck on a capitalist western country where you have to pay like 1k-3k taxes each month . Just take your savings and live on countries with low to 0 taxes . There you will have all the time in the world to figure out your business .

This is a scarcity mindset, which I would deem toxic.

When I started out, I had a lot of uncertainty about being self-employed: friends and family have problems with you all of the sudden (especially when you make more money than them), your business' lack of history makes clients more dubious to do business with you, and you get extra scrutiny during the house-buying process.

I've made it through all of that, so I'm fine with being self-employed these days. Once you're established, you'll probably feel the same as well.

It's hard to shake off the employee mindset since people are creatures of habit

Eventually, you'll reach a point where you won't exchange the FREEDOM you have for anything in the world.

People cross that line at different times in their Entrepreneur journey.... many never get to cross that line.

I work part time in a company and part time on my side business.

It's the best I found personally.

Working on my business only would make me unsocialising and lonely and I hate this.

I understand that, an alternative to working for socialization is something like martial arts classes.

Used to feel this way all the time couple years back. That is why I decided to have multiple sources of income, including an offline business. Offline business is still not materialized but it's in the pipeline.
A lot of people also don't invest their money properly for the rainy days. Always make your money work for you. Invest in the right places and you'll never have to worry about money.

I've been working on it for the last six months. I noticed how much crap idiots can do. I would not recommend ignoring this.
