This is how absurd PayPal is

Are you legal and legit and had problems too with PP? Wow, that makes me feel even more special as I have never felt their whatever hammer fall on my head ever :D
I had the same opinion as you 2-3 years ago, until it also happened to us. Local business, not even Internet Marketing. Transactions were up to 100k$ monthly. One day we started to partner with another business for buying their leads (we were still doing the same business), we paid them via Paypal (again, not an Internet Marketing business). After a few months later all Paypal accounts (Private ones from employees, the company that sold us the leads, Family members of the employees, and even some of our recurring customers) got permanently locked.

Around 10k$ got locked for 180 days - which was the least of our problems since we had no way of billing our subscriptions at that very moment so our revenue went to zero, but costs stayed the same - and after the 180 days it got collected for damages to Paypals public image. Sadly it was not worth going to court for the balance. It would have been worth going to court for the damages caused, but we preferred to focus on rebuilding the business with another payment provider instead of focusing the energy on a court case.

We switched over to Stripe and Wise (for non-recurring payments). If you own a business and you have employees to pay, don't rely on Paypal. One day or another, even if it is not your fault and just one of your customers, it will bite you. Even as a business owner, you only get automatic responses. Callcenter will tell you everything is done by the "system" automatic and they cannot do anything. The only logical choice for me was to never use Paypal again - personal and business - because the "automatic system" will run havoc on your business and not even Paypals employees will be able to help you with that.

What they do is certainly not legal - or moral if you care about that - and if you read experiences from other business owners, they tend to steal only amounts that are small enough to not get dragged to court. Going to court over something under 30k$ is not worth the trouble in my opinion. And it seems like Paypal shares that opinion, which really benefits their model. We caught them so many times lying, that this company simply cannot be trusted anymore. Every normal payment processor would just close your account, send you the remaining balance and delete your customer details (if requested after some time).

Paypal will steal your money, kill your revenue, send you TOS update spam for the rest of your life for an account that you cannot delete or use, but you will be "legally" responsible for it forever.

I don't know how Paypal be able to do this and get away with it.

We need to know more about your business. Please take the following actions to complete the review:

"Please contact your buyers to reply our emails"

I was pretty much surprised at seeing this myself. I know PayPal asks for documents and business information. But this? I never expected this.

This is like saying if all the buyers don't respond, we will limit your account forever.

They don't generally do this.

What is your business model, dropshipping/affiliate/smm services?
How old is your paypal account?
How many chargebacks?

Man...

I never had a problem with them, I mean, I never had big problems but these stories are just ridiculous and people share, a more and more horrific experience they have with them...

I swear, even tho I live in "3rd-world-country" and I am pretty much limited when it comes to which processors I can use, back in 2012 I had better options than in almost 2022!

They are changing a lot lately... It feels like they are greedy, maybe I'm wrong.

I don't like their fees at all, but it is what it is, I can't change anything...

if you have notting to lose (with PP).. screenshot the email, tweet it and contact the press like theverge.com

It's true, I got it in message center of my PayPal account

Is this a copy and paste from Paypal?

Just curious because it is not proper grammar.

Yes it's a copy/paste from PayPal itself

This is also not punctuated correctly, there is no space after the period.

This appears after you login or is an email? Not sure why there would be so many mistakes within just a few sentences.

After I login, it's in message centre itself

just screenshot your Paypal to convince the other members

Screenshot it. The grammar doesn't sound something like PayPal would write.

Unbelievable that this is happening to a legal SaaS.

The message you posted has several grammar mistakes. Did you check the mail headers to verify?
Also, can you please post a screenshot, as several other members have said?

If anyone has a god marketing idea to fuck them up, give a sign.

What is a decent PayPal alternative?
Go the crypto way (available to your jurisdiction eg Coinbase) + credit/debit card (Stripe, 2checkout, Paddle, etc).

We have switched to alternatives in all the services we offer in our agency. PayPal suck!

As many people are asking if it's officially from PayPal, as I do agree this is absolutely the most idiotic thing asked by PayPal

Why do I really have to contact the buyers and get them to reply? I really don't think that's my job, however for them, it's an important element in completing their review for whatever reason

yep they're definitely targeting other countries then.. i keep seeing posts here on Paypal asked me to do this and do that
for US customers they're wayyy nicer lol.. i guess its because they are US based and know that if something goes wrong they have my social security and info and can sue anyone in the US
but when you're in India they're not able to do anything if you fuck them over
