How you rank your GMBs?

Citations, embeds and links works great to rank GMB.
I heard many bad bad comments on CTR manipulation
 
knowing google, probably a combination of everything you've heard. CTR, citations, links, age, keyword in title, keyword in reviews, ALT tags on images, geotagging images, image uniqueness, website authority, proximity to searcher, reviews on other platforms, hours open, etc. etc.

In my experience a ton of citations and keywords in the title/reviews + image geotagging was enough for a tough niche.
 
You need to get reviews with keywords and gmb posts.

Dont buy reviews you can ask friends and family
 
CTR manipulation can be done but for the short term. If you are looking for long term make sure to have good reviews that stick preferably from higher level; local guides. This is what you can do on the GMB.

Other than that have a website that with optimized well.

Also needless to say categories and other things also play a major role.
 
I don’t have the link but there’s one of those Google patents that talks about how Google maps navigation is made up of nodes that are used as waypoints and the more you build up your business location as an active node, the more dependent Google maps will be to provide more accurate navigation. Long story short: use ask for direction on a real device as you move around the city throughout the day. Or do it with a vm/emu
 
It’s all user signals and citations not much else matters. If your getting map clicks in a area and phone calls from that area that’s where you will rank the best regardless of proximity

microworkers won’t help they must be local clicks
 
There are many cool tricks for more advanced SEO, like interlinking your Youtube with your GMB and Twitter, for example. Interlinking your GMB posts and spamming them with keywords helped me rank quickly (mixed with other nifty tricks), but such tactics might backfire because it is super black SEO.

If you want to stay on the safe side: Meta T and D with keywords, great ON-Page SEO optimized for LOCAL! I like to get local donation backlinks (donate to your local schools, community, baseball team for a backlink on their "sponsors page") great way to show Google your relevancy, citations are a must for local, get as many as you can, it is essential to keep them consistent with your NAP! make Schema code optimized for local, add every Property you can and use as many key-words as possible but make it look organic and not forced.

Another cool trick for example is to add "slogan" property to your Schema code, it is a safe way to add an extra keyword.

The rest is obvious ranking factors, backlinks, DA, PA, Page speed ETC.
There is no end to SEO.

read it, brother. Google removed many businesses due to the wrong optimization.
 
GMB CTR Manipulation is fantastic when done properly. Google can read fake mobile traffic and local searches from outside your city or state are intercepted. It also needs to appear natural. Desktop bot programs are not appearing natural in analytics. We have been doing successful CTR manipulation the right way with exceptional results for over a year. Tips to rank your GMBs:

  • Take control of your Google My Business (GMB) listing by claiming it and verifying it.
  • Complete your GMB listing to the best of your ability.
  • Check to see if your GMB category is correct.
  • Add a bunch of high-resolution images.
  • Obtain Google reviews that are relevant to your business.
  • Post on a regular basis.
  • Learn more about the elements that influence your local SEO rankings.

I would respectfully disagree that CTR is not a ranking factor. Google includes the importance in their own patent / "Modifying search result ranking based on implicit user feedback and a model of presentation bias"
