Can a blog rank with translated content ?

Hello,

Would it be possible to rank articles based on translated content ?
For the transalation, here are the steps :

- Pick information/blog posts/books content/... in French
- Translate it to English using DeepL.
- Gathering this translated content and write articles targeting low competition keywords (So one article will have different sources..)
- Using Quillbot to get a fresh vocabulary/sentences.
- Optimizing the final content with an SEO tool (Like SurferSEO).

What do you think ?

I have some websites that I translate from English to German or French with deepl, use purchased subscription images through envato and my blogs rank really well and have for years. So works well in my experience.

yeah, you should definitely use a different image tho, else the chance of getting a mail from DMCA would be quite high

Translated content can definitely rank, though I think you're trying a bit hard for the content. I skip step 4 and go right to on-page SEO editing while fixing any broken sentences I may see along the way.

I'm going into this direction as well, from my initial research, i don't see any problem to rank translated content

It’s not that great for the user (automated translations) but it’s doable. If spun text can rank, so can translated text...

It works but it simplifies everything. Translate with Deepl, manually proofread and correct any errors. Publish. For images, use them unique, get them from sites like pixabay, edit them with canva. Of course, the whole process works best in low-computation niches and long-tailed keywords.

I've seen this work successfully, time and again. It's only a slight downside that it may be hard to rank for specific keyword queries in foreign languages. However, people will often search using the translated keywords like they would any other query. To make use of it more fully, try tracking what people are searching for on mobile (pages like "Android)", or get your blog listed on Google Translate. I'm confident you'll get an influx of traffic from foreign countries very quickly if you can offer them value in their local language!

1. Do proper KW research, content doesn't rank by itself, you need to target low comp keywords regardless of translated or whatever content you're using.
2. translate the KW into german or french.
3. google the KW and lift content from sites
4. Translate all content into english and combine the articles to make a mega article that is targetted to your KW (make sure to proofread it)

P.S. Google translate and DeepL and other major auto translators have pretty much the same output in 99% of the cases. At least that's how it was for me. What you need to do is build a good article that makes sense and is unique (without being spun) and you are golden!

How many articles did it have? Were all of them translated?
How much traffic did the blog get? How much of that was organic?
How much money was it making a day or per month?
How old was the website when you sold it?

I also use a similar thing: translate Russian content into English in DeepL and manually go through the article in DeepL and find some more relevant synonyms for certain words/phrases.
And yes, SurferSEO rocks too) A really powerful tool
This content can be easily ranked for low-competition keywords. And I also use this method for guest posts but in this case I only make a translation with minimum manual changes. And I do not use Surfer SEO for guest posts

How do I use deepl to translate my English website to Dutch?
I am thinking of copying over the English website to duch domain wordpress website.
Translate using a auto translate plugin like like - translatepress and them turn off English.
I also see there is this plugin: DeepL Pro API translation plugin
Which plugin do you suggest for this?
Or
Do I manually translate pages to Dutch using deepl and copy over to Dutch domain website?
