Here is SA, it also costs about $10,000 in a private hospital
and about $1,000 in a state hospital for child birth...
Luckily Health insurance here covers most if not all hospital visits.
My Wife will be in, early july for our second child.

You see a long time ago I had problems with a big company on some charge. I just blast to thousands of yahoogroups and the company yield (even though I am partially at fault too and I regretted doing that). I guess Olden lawyers know what to do better. That's what I was offering in previous thread. Doesn't seem to be necessary.

This type of news makes me realise how lucky I am to be living in the UK. They were planning some free medical reforms in the States when Obama got in however not read any news of any progression - maybe its the lobbyists. I hope Oldstylehats and reading the latest posts things are looking better !!

I am very glad to hear that things are working out for Oldenstylehats. The insurance situation in America is a nightmare, and I worry that by trying to do the right thing Obama is making it worse.
Does anyone know what the healthcare situation is like in Panama? Ive been considering a move both for business and surf.

Governments intervention will make things worst. Government do lawsy job in regulating marriage, education, road. What makes you think insurance will be better. But it's in a different thread.
Anyway, besides giving money, is there anything else we can do?
If you want health insurance, treat it like an insurance. Ask for those that are cheap but demand a lot of copay.
What is a good reasonable insurance? Me. I have only one insurance. Life insurance. If I die I got $100k. If I live I pay $200 per year. That's it. Looks to me insurance company knows that the probability that I will die less than .2% each year.
Then they will bitch I didn't tell them I am suicidal.
