from what i've been hearing, majority of celebs are donating 1 million. considering the catastrophe down in haiti, i'm surprised that an "international superstar" and "humanitarian" gave so little.

she should have kept her donation amount a secret...and just said 'i donated'....cuz when she anounced that she only gave 250k i was a bit disappointed.....she should have atleast matched the other celebs

i mean, we're talking about people who have more money than they know what to do w/. she probably spends more on clothes and makeup....

This sounds kind of socialist to me, no offense. She worked harder than you obviously so maybe you should start working harder so you can give more... that's the kind of the way I look at it.

No matter how dumb she may act (at times), she's not an idiot. She knows that most of the money donated will never make it to those who need it. Haiti has one of the most corrupt governments in the world... in fact calling their government a government is an overstatement. Its a failed state...

A priest I know has a relief foundation that works solely in Haiti, and they have to PAY OFF THE PRESIDENT in order to help the poor there. THAT'S how corrupt it is. Anyone who won't let a charity help those in need in their country without getting paid off should be thrown in jail and spat upon.

Does anyone donate to help the US in our time of financial need? NO. In fact, no other country with the exception of a few rarely if ever help out the US so if the people in the US aren't helping your country ask if you've helped out ours???

What makes you "god's gift" to the world that should be thrown freebees. Every country faces: debt, crime, natural disaster, etc at some time or another.

And to the person who commented about her donating not a big enough % of her income... Well, guess what pal the amount she donated is still more than you so STFU... $1 is not the same as $250K so until you can match her pipe down.

Look at the trivial amounts though... Entire countries donated less than Modonna. In fact, the other countries donations are laughable some even pathetic. Granted I understand many countries aren't on the same economic scale as the US but, honestly... lol... I mean some of those on the list were just "pledges" it doesn't even say whether or not they even sent the money. Let's see some countries donate like the wealthy population in the US gives to other countries like those in Africa... It's in the hundreds of millions probably billions if I took the time to research.

While in a way i understand where tonlilaz is coming from, its still a donation and a good one.
She has donated huge amounts to other countries though behind the scenes if you look at the kids she has adopted too she has given larger amounts to those countries and many more that are not even put on the news. She is probably one of the biggest celebrity donator in the world.

So just because she gave 250,000 to Haiti i know she will give more when its needed, and probably launch a campaign or a free event to bring in more.
But take it from me she has given more than any other celebrity out there.

These other celebs i have rarely heard donating to anything before and are probably using this time to get them in the news.

P.S lets not argue with tonlilaz shes a good friend and i know personally how kind she is. And for those saying shes not a hard worker she is and with children.

Its very hard work for a mother with screaming children to find time to run a business online and my hat goes off to all you ladies who succeed
 
reading about the horrible stuff happening down in haiti's driving me a bit crazy i guess. i wish i had a billion in the bank right now so i could give and make a difference.

It is really frustrating!

Shit like that drives me insane. Think about how many people in the world are dying of starvation. (20K kids every day)

You don't even have to look outside of the US. Now that is something that we could easily end...if people got together and made a real concerted effort.

Religious or not...it's a SIN! :(
