Being rich in the 3rd world

I can suggest :) I live in Capitol of VietNam. It's busy city...crowded. Pollution in the air is terrible. English speakers (fluent ones) are so rare.

Hospitals are always full +. However, there is a top class one for foreigners (which isn't cheap). Moreover, Traffic is nightmare in rush hour. Food and water from the Super market is just fine. I don't trust them, they seem to have hidden toxic or something which tastes good but harmful.

Internet and other facilities are low...I'm DLing from rapidshare at ~100kb/s. In addition, the online community is ...hm, I'm lack of vocab for this. There are arrogant people, so many newbies in many fields lol. Just imagine, many students do not really work, they play online games, chit chat on forums, read comics, fictions, so many junk works... just for fun.

While Average salary for common people is ~100$ or less, university educated workers get from 100-200$. Only elite workers (dedicated, loyal, skillful..) can achieve income ~ 500$ a month.

THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR LIVING, no matter how much you earn. IF you earn so much automately. You can try for a tour, to the countryside. However there are many places to choose from.

I am from a third World country. Pakistan.

Here average person makes like $2-$5 for whole day of work in the field.

It is very difficult for these guys to live a life that you guys are living. They always have Next meal in their minds, where to get money to buy them meals.
Also most of the people live in joint families. You can easily find people whose dependents are more than 10. Only one person earning money and all other 10 waiting for him to come back.

It is really bad out here and i wonder what will be the conditions in African countries.

I am from a low income family and trying to find some ways to make some money for my family. I work as freelancer on Getafreelancer. I came here to find some ways to make some good money for my family but i have not been able to make a single penny since i joined here.

Most of the methods are already saturated or are fake. I recently made a blog to and put in adsense in it so that it can give me some money but it is not working as thought by me.

I would appreciate if any of you can help me in any way You can. I am not asking for monetary help i am just asking for technical help to get me going.

This is my blog. Please help me with suggestions to get more traffic to make some decent money. I will be really happy if i could make $30-$50 daily. i am not wishing for large amount of $$$.

Thanks

Interesting thread.

What countries would anyone recommend as a nice place where you can move from the west, live like a king and not get shot?

i don't recommend you any 3rd world countries, why? because i think if you didn't born such places, you just can't fit in even if you can live like a king with your money, they have totally different culture, traditions
instead of these countries i can suggest you some Eastern or Southern European countries like: Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary (my country) or Croatia (maybe this one is the best with its beautiful beaches), you can easily fit in these countries if you're an American, many people can speak your language and even more day by day, there aren't big differencies in culture and the most important thing: the girls are always pretty!
i don't know your taste in women, but if you like the caucasian type (which is my fav), these countries are a good place for you, the average monthly income is around $600-700 and not too many people make more than $2500 in a month
and these countries are relatively safe, safer than the US and the 3rd world countries for sure

we already heard stories about Asia and South America, but what about the African countries? are there any members on bhw from Africa who lives like a king in his/her country?

To much webmasters ( seo and adult ) go and live in Thailand.
One problem - they need every 3 month go to board to Cambodja and back, because visa only for 3 monts.

O-immigrant visa : 15 months stay

Thailand is the best seriously

if I make $600/month here I would be richer than 70% of the population. anything over $3000 a month or $5000 would be considered some real serious money and I could get just about any woman I liked based on my income alone no matter what i am or look like. So go figure. lol.. About 90% of the regional directors of multinational companies here make anywhere between $5k-10k a month and they belong to like the richest 2% category.

What great country do you speak of?

I live in South Africa....considered REALLY 3rd world...

But it all depends on where you are..the divide between rich and poor is so great. If i were to be in one of the townships, then people might wonder what am i doing there with "my money" . But i live in a fairly posh area, where everyone owns their own homes and drives decent cars...this is the beauty of IM where im from...because i still earn GOOD money.. (about 2k us a month is considered good here) and benifit from the exchange rate, but i also dont have to worry about being looked down on by the community..

I could easily move to a 1st world country on the money i make, and i plan on doing just that when im done with my studies....once i graduate ill be heading back to the UK, might even tour through the US first...

Save up man, our touring citites can be expensive.

i'm not coming from 3rd world countries nor do i from top countries in the world. LOL..
this thing didn't happen to me, it happened to my friend instead. his assets were freezed because he made $500 transaction from paypal directly to his bank acc everyday for 3 weeks (if i'm not mistaken) and cashed out 2 checks worth $45k in those weeks (i don't know until this second what were those checks for). he was taken by the bank in our country for investigation, slept in jail for a week.

he had more money but due to paypal's limitation, that was the most he can withdraw for every single day. he was an ebay powerseller. after he was released, everyone called him as a hacker. it was funny.

more money, more problem.:D

I have a kid in the US, so I can't move too far away and need to be able to visit every two weeks. I'm probably going to buy a cheap little home with some land in Appalachia and get satellite internet for it. I've been talking to a girl online who blogs and owns a bar in Belize. It's an English speaking country in Central America, used to be called British Honduras. I know some Spanish and can learn more with practice.( I realized yesterday, while speaking to someone in Spanish, that what little I did know of the language was effortless.) Because of my language skills and my child, I'm looking at Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, and Panama because I have family there. I also have a VA in the Phillipines who wants to open an office and an outsourcing company there. She is trilingual, English, Spanish, and Tagalog. So I think my future definitely lies offshore - probably some kind of small and seasonal bed/breakfast joint in my chosen country (so I can spend most of my time working online, and have a fun business IRL) and an outsourcing company in the Philippines. I'm starting to take small steps towards making it all happen. In 18 months I might be inviting you all down for some fishing and scuba diving at my place, (and offering offshore hosting + outsourcing, too?) We'll see....

I live in a 3rd world country and many people are rich here. It's not like 3rd world country = starvation. Well...in a way, I mean, most people here drive Porsche Cayennas, but can barely afford to pay for the rent.

Hahaha, yeah thats kinna like london too. Most people i know drive around in expensive cars but their home is neglected and cant even fill the bloody tank of the thing cos ''its too expensive'' and they will still be paying for it three years later. We are living in a era where peoples worth are determined by what they can aquire. Souless zombies.

I am from India. You cant give a healhty food for a family of four with 4ooo rupees.India is growing at 9% and eventhough it was recession throughout the world India grew by 7.So the prices and the income of people have gone up.

But thats not my point. Whats important to people is not money whether they are able to live a decent life, Where people in the west look at money as the main variable of measuring prosperity that cannot the same yard stick with which everyone else measures theirs.

A person who is earning $100 is as rich or as poor as his mind. The rich in India are looked like people with more money but less peace of mind. Its the general feeling among the middle class that the more money you make the more a person changes for the worse.

The rich do get to enjoy certain comforts of life. You can easily get a personal maid for Rs.5k a month. All you need is $2K per month to be living life king size.

BTW the king size is also relative for me it has changed everything.

Cheers.

Talk to me about Belize - your experience with the costs involved, housing, car, legal issues, plans... PM me or IM me (greyhatter/yahoo, greyhatdude/AIM)

BTW, subscribe to sovereignman.com if you're thinking about running a business offshore. Info in his newsletter is not found on the site. Awesomeness.

I am a "poor" person in an abundant country that provides free healthcare, education, and has an excellent welfare system including providing housing for those who need it. I think of your world and how if I were there I probably would be dead or at the very least had to have suffered much abused to survive. I imagine my children would have suffered in a similar way.

There has been a series on Tv (I was given a tv such is the abundance!) here where some British fashion students go to India and live there as the workers do, same conditions, same pay. I knew this already and I find the constant whining of the brits off putting especially given the lack of options faced by those they worked with. Overall it made me realise the importance of assisting where possible.

Although I have little (compare to those living around me) right now I had already planned to donate regularly to a hospital in Hydrobad, India which provides surgury to those with cosmetic issues that prevent them from living a normal life, such as cleft pallete.

Donations are a barely noticable action and surely not enough. Hopefully those in the 3rd world realise there are people who care about them simply because they are human.

There is a shift in world power happening and I'd pick India as the new power. The west would be well reminded of this as in the future we are likely to need their compassion to survive.

Where do you live? I hope youre not refering to the UK?

are there any advantages to living in belise? does adsense pay there? Id like to move somewhere exotic and run xrumer all day! :D

I left the UK in November 2009 and have been touring Asia ever since.

One thing I will say - Thailand is a 2nd world country. Luxury items are as expensive as in the west. Electronics are 20% more expensive. However, food and accommodation is dirt cheap. I had a luxury penthouse and I was paying next to nothing. It's the perfect balance between luxury and low prices.

Vietnam is poorer than Thailand but I still wouldn't call it 3rd world. People are friendlier, but still, you can find yourself paying high prices in the cities.

I was rich compared to the average wage in both countries while I was there. However, walking around the cities, I saw no shortage of other people who looked as rich or richer than me. Every country has a scale and usually, the places where you can get stuff (the cities) are also the places where the richest 10% of the population live, so you find yourself in a supposedly poor country surrounded by guys in expensive suits and high rise penthouse blocks.

All through Asia, I did not detect a hint of resentment for not being / dressing poor. Not all that much in the way of adulation respect either as a lot of people in the cities had money. People just want you to buy their stuff!

Nice looking site you have there,

I see that some of your keywords have full stops . instead of comma , It might be a good idea to change them to commas only some people also suggest leaving them out completely.

the keywords should also be 1 to 3 words instead of Phrases

And your keyword and description have the same text
