People talk about it like it's some special type of backlink.

It's not.

It's a contextual backlink on a powerful page.

What's even more ridiculous is the people saying stick with guest posts. If pbns stop working, guest posts and all other types of backlinks won't work anymore.

But real domains are too expensive for most people, so it's a moot point.

You aren't going to build a pbn that'll skyrocket your rankings with $100 domains anymore.

Unless you can afford to spend $300 to $2k per domain, don't bother. It's getting harder and harder to find good domains for anything less than $700.

People calling PBN’s dead without evidence may have ulterior intentions. But that doesn’t imply that they will work for eternity.
It just means that if picked and set up properly they are a compelling type of SEO.

It still works if you avoid footprints, like it always did... You must invest in good domains and have a budget to maintain them, don't buy pbn links in the marketplace.. it's not pbn if it's in plain sight of everyone

They are spam without relevancy. It won't work. Setup your own niche relevant websites. Post human readable content. And you have your PBN. What's difficult about it? You don't need any "age" or "authority". And you link it to your money site. What's the issue with owning many webistes? It's a myth I saw many agencies repeat to get more clients.
You guys are paranoid as hell. Go for an internship in SEO agency and you will see how it works and what a good link is.
