When operating as an ecommerce merchant you are liable to all sort of claims, the likelihood of these eventuating is another thing altogether, however, you simply need to assess the risks. At a very basic level, you will be at risk of your standard consumer type claims for faulty or damaged products. You will also be at risk of misrepresentation or misleading and deceptive conduct claims if your advertising practices are unlawful. If you are dealing with products that can pose health hazards or environmental hazards then you are exposing yourself to greater liability. All of these risks are completely manageable, however, as WorkingNow suggested, it would certainly be prudent to consider whether you require an insurance policy. Without having more specific information concerning your personal circumstances, it is difficult to provide specific advice, however, there are quite a few public and product liability insurance policies that would cover you for these scenarios.
Great information... At some point, I think it becomes prudent to incorporate to shelter your personal liability.

That's exactly what I've heard from many, that dropshipping is extinct, yet I started doing it. I see you actually have good experience in it and so would be very happy to have the course/tips.

How does the relationship with the supplier work? Let's say you found a supplier for your product. Do you still order it from Aliexpress or you pay him on a weekly basis or so?

Thank you for an amazing thread. If possible I too would like any resources that would help me start out with dropshipping, thanks.

Thanks for the share ! I would be interested in courses/books about this topic :)

I would also like to secure a copy of those dropshipping courses! Thank you so much for this.

I see people always say "understand your market" without detailing how. Would love your thoughts and advice on this.

I'm also on a quest for getting hot items. I saw some good products from CJ and Fulfillman. Do you have any idea about this ?

Great share buddy!
One e-commerce enthusiast here as well. I will follow the thread, I smell that I can learn something valuable here for the future.

Can you elaborate a little bit on how to successfully run FB ads without actually burning your money? Since ads are getting more and more pricey.
I am also wondering how to get a good and reliable supplier with decent shipping times? Without having previous experience. I guess use your logic and get yourself networking with them?

Interested in courses, and books you are providing too.
Cheers!

Maybe it's not purely dropshipping, i have my own product with very targeted market in hiking gear and want to sell the product in the States using fullfilment like shipmonk.

Any advice on that? Thanks

This is a good approach. Have you proven that there is a product market fit? Do you already have a marketing channel?

Hi. I read your post and i have some questions about social media. I just started my store, ads and everything, but my accounts are.. 0 followers, got 1 like on fb. If you are willing to give me some guidance, would be great.

I am definitely provide advice.

What methods have you utilised so far to grow your audience?

I see people always say "understand your market" without detailing how. Would love your thoughts and advice on this.

You need to perform market research.

Who is your target audience? What are their interests? Where do they congregate online?

For example, if you are marketing a product in the baby niche that is a re-usable diaper, you really need to think about how you are going to market that product. Obviously, you have a very big target audience as there are always going to be parents in the world. However, the product that you are marketing in this situation is a re-usable or eco-friendly diaper. Essentially, you need to be able to identify that there is potential that your product will fit better with an audience pre-disposed to ecological sustainability interests as opposed to a general new parent audience.

Learn about your audience. If you do this, you will be ahead of the curve...

Thank you
What do you think about: One-product store + Woocommerce + SEO

I am a proponent of niche stores, however, one product stores can definitely be a good option if you are marketing a great product. WooCommerce is my recommended platform and SEO should be a cornerstone strategy of all drop shippers. If you're not already adopting this approach, I would recommend thinking about changing tact.

do you think is it possible to have a dropshipping website and be anonymous in order to avoid tax from our country ?

Yes, but it is very difficult.

How much time and effort are you willing to expend in order to pull this off?

Going for the long run strategy I see. How much does it take you to see results (profit)? Could you give some estimates between paid and free traffic?

Hi Jasix,

It really depends on the product. I have seen profitable products with as little ad spend as $5. When you get results so quickly, it really gives you the confidence to turn up the dials immediately.

However, I have identified winning products after $200 ad spend as well. In these situations, you really need to analyse the data and understand what it is telling you. Little tweaks or optimisations can turn your luck around.

In terms of paid traffic vs free traffic, initially, 90% of my audience is paid traffic. At the moment I funnel free traffic through my social channels, so this has come down to 60/40. Likewise, repeat customers make this pretty even.
