Here's what I would do if I were in your situation:
Since you have a Christian website, find other Christian blogs and sites.
Once you have a long list of those domain names, enter them into a paid SEO tool like Ahrefs or Semrush; it doesn't matter.
It has to be a paid tool because you need that long list of backlinks that they can produce for you.
Enter each domain, and the SEO tool will show you where they get their backlinks from.
The next step is to try to get links from the sites linking to those Christian sites that are quite big in your niche.
Alternatively, you can load those domains and see if they take guest posts.
One effective yet sneaky method that works for me is sending an email and telling them that you'd like to interview them.
There are many doctrinal differences among churches and denominations; people wouldn't mind being interviewed if you ask them questions about a 'divergent' doctrine or a controversial issue.
People would see it as a great way of building bridges and doing outreach.
So when you publish their interview, don't be surprised that they link back to you.
To maximize your return-on-effort, I would suggest that you only do this technique on Christian sites with better sets of SEO metrics than you.
I'm talking about trust flow , domain authority , and all that good stuff.
So if you play your cards right, you can get a nice surge in backlinks because you're reaching out for interviews or to pick people's brains regarding Christian issues.
