How many links in a guest post?

Hi,
I have just started getting guest posts by using the methods found here, and I can get good amount of posts these days.
But, I don't know how to add my links,

My status:
- I have a lot of back links to my internal pages (+1.2k RD)
- My main page just has 10 RD!!

This is what I need:
- I need to increase RD to my main page and increase the strength of my domain
- I need some back links to my internal pages to get rank

What I do now:
I add 2 links in a post, one to the target internal page and one to the main page

What do you suggest?
Is it natural and optimized to add 2 links (main page and internal page) in post?

You really only need one link, inner pages are actually fine and less likely to make it look like a guest post since google is more on the lookout these days.

Best advice. Make it look as natural as possible.

As long as the links are relevant, two would be fine. However, I do recommend only one.

Definitely 1 or 2 at most. On the other hand, I would add 3, 4, or 5 on some occasions. Just to diversify everything a bit. Besides the number of links, I would also suggest diversifying the size of the guest posts (300-500-1000-1500 words), just to make sure Google doesn't find some obvious links scheme

Adding 2 links doesn't look natural at all. So, I always go with only one link to my post plus a few authority links if the site owner allows. If you think from Google's perspective, you will understand that any site owner usually won't link to a site twice in a single post (there will be exceptions of course).

I would recommend maximum two links ideally for two different domains. You may get one backlink to your main website and one link to another guest post which you have done or may be to one of your web 2.0 sites, if you have such sites.

Just go with one link but internal links within that site is a must, don't let your page be orphaned.

I agree with this point. In addition to that, he is asked that one particular link to his main(home) page or internal page, which will be helpful to his expectations. I suggest home page links(Main page) as the requirement is to increase the RD of his Homepage. @Mr Positive I would like to know your view on this.

I usually don’t build inner page links to home page, but seen big sites do it, it could be risky maybe not but I prefer not to do it for my clients
