Depending on what is your domain name and what niche is already targeted you should start adding content. Lots of content. Even duplicate should work with this old website. Try to make one one original high quality article to post to article directories. You could make it to first place for the most competitive keyword in your niche very easy. If you can spare some cash try to outsource this work. Make one good page at your site and make links to it. Bookmarking and profile links should work. This website is goldmine

I am building it up again, just started.

Is domain this old really that importan?

I am building like 100+ uniqe text pages and a forum as well.
