love your reply bro. just starting cpa with adwords and bingads after 4 years.
Thanks @Hariking. Some of this is just putting out there your failures and successes and removing the shroud of mystery and answering the question... is it even possible ?

My transparency is about sharing with people that have struggled to make any money on this forum. I've been there and I know that perpetuates a lot of what people say in general but really.. it's the truth.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not raking it in by any means but that just means that there is still a lot to learn and as I learn I'm "putting the knowledge into action".

I hope that things continue to get better as I learn PPC in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Hey @bhcg101, how do you determine the CPC for the keywords? do you just put a random number at first then adjust later or you rely on tools like SemRush?

For those that don't think that Bing is worth it.. hmmm...

Have you used Microsoft Merchant Center or just your Microsoft Advertising account?
What kind of ads have you been using?

Hey @doctorhm007, I use SEMrush to get an idea as to what the cpc is going to be for the campaign I'm exploring. Since I'm not doing Google Adwords, it gives me a rough estimate of what it would be. I could also use the internal tool in Bing Ads to find the exact but I don't find that necessary. No matter what I am going to try to pay less than whatever I see in Semrush.

I "try" to not pay more than .30 for a click. I aim for a high quality score and typically do at least an 8 on every campaign.

My best campaign is a QS of 10 an avg cpc of .24 and I get conversions on that campaign daily... avg price of the product is $70 and I get roughly around $3 from Amazon each time I get one sold.

I've got another campaign where it's an avg cpc of .32 with a QS of 9 but the avg. price for the product is $200 meaning that Amazon typically pays $8 each time I sell one.. doesn't convert as frequently as my #1 campaign but it converts well when me when it does and keep in mind I convert multiple items each day from Amazon.

Hope that insight helps.

Bing isn't worth it TBH. I tried promoting products, spent over $500 but got like $81 from CB. Don't promote guys, the CPC is overpriced and the people just don't buy I guess.

I think that in all fairness that with any platform, any product, any situation there are going to be varied experiences. Haven't we all had that happen to us ?

Whether we are talking about a product online or something offline.. heck take cars for instance. Pardon the example, but a percentage of people will love the car and another percentage swears its the worst thing they have ever driven. One person's experience doesn't flatly make the product not worth it. Again.. I believe that is a fair comment to make if we're being reasonable.

For anyone that hasn't made a dime in CPA or in affiliate marketing.. they'll say CPA or affiliate marketing doesn't work or at the very least wonder about the effectiveness of it.

Then there's the small percentage that literally make a living off of affiliate marketing and CPA that would flatly disagree that it's not worth it and then there's everyone else with varied experiences in between that are all over the place in terms of their experiences and opinions.

Who's right and who's wrong ?

No one really.. some will do well and some won't. That's life if you ask me and the same is applicable in this instance too.

Exactly. TBH I make my living from Affiliate marketing(Amazon Affiliate) and wanted to try CB with Google and Bing Ads, doesn't work for me now. But I will try it later when I am free from my sites. But from my current experience, I don't think promoting CB products using Bing Ads is a smart decision.

Congrats on your ability to make a full time living doing affiliate marketing. That's awesome :) However, I'd advise that if you're going to promote on any PPC platform, I'd go after high ticket items. Ideally, I'd advise going after commissions that are at least $50-100 and above.

Amazon, even though the commission rates have gone down are still a good target because of the sheer size of the marketplace and hold they have on ecommerce in general so they really can't be a place to ignore and there's such a wealth of products to promote so I think they should be part of any affiliate journey anyway. I've got products in mind that I am looking to build campaigns for that far exceed $100 commissions.

I never did well with Clickbank but others have. With that said, there are many many many (as you already know) affiliate products out there to promote that would do well on any ppc platform as long as you build a good campaign with a good QS and low cpc.

Can't agree more buddy!

Hey @Rey Roy I've only used my Microsoft Advertising account. What do you mean what kind of ads have I been using ? Not sure I understand the question.

there are different kind of ads there:

Visits to my website

Visits to my business location(s)

Conversions in my website

Phone calls to my business

App installs

Dynamic search ads

Sell products from your catalog

Ahh okay, thanks for clarifying. All of my ads are search ads and targeted to visits to my website.

Thanks for the clarification! I'm also starting the same thing as you but I'm testing with the Europ market. Hope it works out!

Another unexpected result of my experimenting around with PPC was 50 amazon orders in 3 days+ of testing an amazon campaign as well.
View attachment 151605

I didn't see anything on the 10th and barely anything on the 11th because I paused the campaign as I wanted to see about lowering my cpc so I thought I'd give SKAGS a try. I have now created hundreds of SKAGS and finally got them all approved today. 50 clicks today / 2 orders and I would imagine the numbers of orders will improve as my ads gain more traction.. in fact one new SKAG campaign I have set up is getting a cpc of .13 and in the top 3 positions 14 clicks today.. again that number will go up as the ad is left alone to run over the next few days.. it's a manual campaign so the cpc should remain low. Earnings may not show a lot but again as we know with a 24 hour cookie, that can be hit and miss but as long as you can keep your cpc low, it's worth the investment. Some days will be winners and others won't, but you can't make money if you're not willing to lose some in the process. Again, this amazon result was not expected initially and now that I saw some results, I changed how I was building the campaigns and now we'll see where things go from here.
And how much have you spent so far?

Direct linking... surprised that it is actually working with all the adverse reactions to DL.. most say that it's not worth it. If your payout is high.. I don't see how it's not worth it especially if you can get clicks under 40 cents.
Not sure what you mean by organic but visual ads yes.. and they are highly relevant to the offer.
Thanks for the encouragement.. gonna keep testing and trying different campaigns but it's still early.. however, I'm content with the results so far. Hoping to see a day where I can do better than 2 conversions in one day.
The goal for most starting I think is to see that $100 day.
Now I'd like to see a $500 day and then a $1000 day and scale from there.
Keep it up bro

Do you guys use Bing $100 coupons to get free $150 credits for spending?

You say you run a manual campaign to keep your CPC low right?. But how did you manage to get clicks based off of it? I mean when your bids are lower than those of the competitors, your ads aren't propelled to the most visible area, hence you miss out on most of the clicks/conversions.

Hey @mon3y4me, no I didn’t use the coupons, but I highly recommend using them if you can get your hands on them. I am sure that you can search the marketplace to find a seller here on BHW. A coupon would have saved me some money for sure, but keep in mind.. those coupons are usually only good for new accounts I believe.

I’m sure that someone else could verify that statement.

Hey @fxkool thanks for your comment. Yes, each campaign is a manual campaign. As for the clicks, it comes down to research and in most cases I don’t want to pay more than .30 for a click. I do realize that this may not put me in the #1 position, but I’m usually “always” on the first page.

My target goal is for a position no lower than 3. So in regards to your comment that the ad is not propelled to the most visible area and I’m missing out on most of the clicks/conversions I would disagree.

I’m still highly visible “when” the ads are shown and still above the fold regarding ad placement. My best campaign is .25 cpc and generated 400 clicks in the first 7 days of this month already and that campaign in particular is converting everyday.
