I think the answer is absolutely yes. Stop and listen to the reasons for this first...

I tried to sign up for Fiverr and Upwork. I ran into errors before I could even complete my profile. But Support teams give answers like a fool and a robot. Bad functions and novice design! The design of all of them is similar to the bloated themes on themeforest.com. Confusing procedures, long and ridiculous stages. Websites do not even have a corporate design. The design of all is like the bloated wordpress themes on themeforest.com. Intricate designs, fake profiles and eye-catching nonsensical corporate visuals. When you first enter the websites, all of the profiles look like a scam site taken from a stock visual site.

Listen! There's more...

Don't the ridiculous procedures make you feel like a fool? Are the rules, approvals and procedures of these websites different than a boss? You almost have to beg and chase after them. Don't you feel like a rookie under ridiculous procedures, mistakes and bad designs?

But you dreamed of being free and doing your own thing. Don't these websites give you the impression of a virtual boss? Your new boss is these websites and these procedures. You cannot express yourself the way you want and you cannot work the way you want. Moreover, it is like a porter market and you can apply for the postings only by paying a fee. If you do not pay a fee, you cannot be a porter. Isn't that really funny?

Moreover, the design of their website is crap. How are you going to be at their disposal when you are even better than those who designed these websites in terms of ability? Didn't you ever ask yourself what am I doing here with the functionality of the websites and broken css designs? Have you not questioned treating these websites as your boss? Are you all sheep? Haven't you noticed how they turn you into rookies and treat you like a novice?

How can stock photos and yellow stars, medal profiles impress you? Don't you know that these are all simple css that can be done by liars too? You have to pay a fee to sow a certificate in your profile. Look ... they're comparing you. Look at the profile of a sexy woman with a smiling face! Go take a course from her, learn and add it to your profile.

There is an absurdity. Hasn't anyone really made a free and professional freelance site so far? What are these? It's like a magazine site and a gossip site.

Nonsense is increasing and poor quality is increasing in the world. I'm nervous!

I also wanted to promote my service on Fiverr couple of days ago. Very bad experience. It took ages to complete profile setup then I had to take both SEO and English test in order to sell. I passed SEO test right away and moved to english one.
I started english test and it threw error right away (not giving me chance to answer anything). When I wanted to re-take the test, it it said I can do it again in 93DAYS....93 days....yea you bet I wont. XD

This is the reason I have always preferred to make my own brand instead of working as a slave for these shitty freelancing sites.

Having a brand with an excellent social media presence with a website is what I prefer :)

Stange.
I recently created a Fiverr and Upwork account (didn't want to use my personal fiverr account to sell on) and had no issues at all.
No errors or anything.

This is just one of the nonsense. I think they all work like a ponzi system.

Yeah! Exactly. These are just virtual bosses. It is no different from the office outside.

I felt similar when I started selling on Amazon. Amazon felt (and still feels) like my boss. That being said, they've got a highly sought after platform that I get to use to sell my stuff. That's potentially tens of thousands of dollars and / or thousands of hours I don't have to invest into building trust for my own platform. I simply use theirs. It's the price we have to pay to use others' bigger and better toys than our own. In SEO, we have another boss. Life is full of bosses, no matter what we do. Someone's always gotta be the boss -- even if it's you.

Novice luck. But that's not the point. You have obeyed your orders very well! Great! You are a free freelancer, right? Don't fool yourself man. Go and work outside. Rest assured this will be more comfortable and safe. Also, you have never seen a truly corporate design. Themeforest also sell these bloated themes for $ 50. All of these have no more worthwhile design than a $ 50 site.

If you were professional enough already, you wouldn't be able to admire these websites.

You definitely get what the point is. You understood what I wanted to tell. But there shouldn't be such nonsense on freelancers. First of all, what are these themes like? They are all similar in design and appear to have been purchased from the themeforest for $ 50. Just a few functions and profiles make it special? Huge banners, stock images.

Amazon.com is a different and different market. It can never be compared with these websites. They really sell products. This is a different world.

This is the best course of action. Have your own portfolio site (even a free blogger type url, if you're going the no cost route) as a base of operations, promotion and for branding. Use the same email, so you don't miss any messages. Treat Fiverr, Upwork and other gig portals as separate funnels to deliver the work package, which can be the same exact one across all the freelance platforms. If the big freelance sites become nonsense, drop them and market only through the better behaving sites.

It was crazy how many site breaking bugs I ran into while using Upwork! You'd think a publically traded company would at least have a site that works.

Do you know Upwork is wordpress? Yes! This is normal. But their designs are very ordinary! I'm sure they also bought a theme for $ 49 on themeforest. Then an office, some dollars and fame! That's all. Stock images and a cliché design.

Websites are not stable. But they are all alike. Can you see a design that can distinguish one more from the other? No! They all have the same design, not even a distinctive different identity design. I didn't know before that freelancer sites were so ridiculous.

Honestly fiverr is the best place for an entrepreneur. You can get so much cheap work from there. it honestly doesn't get better then that

Had no idea it was Wordpress, that's insane!
