Journey into the streaming niche

Hey guys,

I've decided to take the direction of movie & series streaming.
My business model is slightly different than the majority of similar websites, since I want to stay away from any kind of ads, and go for netflix-like subscriptions instead.

What I have done so far:
- a very hard-worked web-crawler that finds and downloads all the movies & series all over the internet, including torrents
- a proxy network that similarly retrieves and tests all the free proxies that can be found available on the net (which then are subsequently used for retrieving the movies)
- a solution to store and serve the movies (in a fragmented and encrypted way) using various services like Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.
- a service that retrieves the entire TMDb database using their APIs (with daily updates)
- the retrieved movies/series are matched against the TMDb data in order to get poster images, backdrops, stills, ratings, reviews, plots, etc.
- the website that cleanly showcases all the available movies/series based on popularity and recommendation algorithms
- unregistered viewers can freely watch first 25% of any movie, after which they'll have to login into their accounts
- newly registered users can watch everything up to 30 days
- after 30 days, a user must apply for a subscription (between 2$ per month and 10$ per year)
- everybody can add subtitles in their own language (which will get saved and made available to everyone else)
- payments: only BTC

What is next:
- mobile app
- Plex plugin
- Kodi plugin
- Chromecast optimizations
- trying to not get caught
- getting feedback and improving as I go along

no one will pay you with btc to just watch some free movies they can watch from other websites. you should use normal popups and cpa things.
and if they like your website too much , they can just create different accounts each month to watch free.

You always need to judge first by yourself and people around you. Why would you want pay that service? If you ask me, I wouldn't bother to pay for the illegal stuff I can watch for free. If I want to pay I buy Netflix and HBO.

You have to be open to feedbacks and criticism . If not, you are bound to fail. We live in a world where people create multiple trial accounts for legitimate services. As yours in not legal, people will surely create free accounts or move to free services. Moreover accepting only BTC will make it difficult for common people to pay for your service. You have to seriously reconsider your business model.

Yes! It all depends on his traffic and how easily users can buy Bitcoin.

Are you his lawyer, I am not holding him or criticise, just giving my opinion. Just saying it would be smart to do a small reaserch before. Your comparision would be correct if you said: Why would you pay for a hooker if you can get a hooker for free. Otherwise, no one is guarantee you will get laid for free. And I can guarantee I will watch the same movies for free.

Could be true, could be not. I don't know. One way to tell for sure.
I thought long about it and there are some problems with the existing legal/illegal solutions, which this kind of site would solve:

Fragmentation:
On Netflix/HBO/Prime/Disney/etc. you're only bound to the relatively few titles that they provide - to have a subscription for each in order to have access to more movies is overkill.
This service would contain all the possible movies and series that can be found.

Country-bound
Many titles will not be provided if you're unlucky to be in the wrong country.

Ads
Judging by myself and the ones around me, we all run away from them. Even Youtube is so hated about it, even if they offer a way to premium.

Now I'm not saying it's gonna be pitch-perfect, attracting everybody. I'm not expecting the 200 million subscribers that those legal services have. A small fraction of it would suffice for now, and I feel it's achievable.
Again, one way to find out.

And of course I'm open to criticism. I just bring out the thinking process to the table.

I think they're right, nobody wants to pay for movies that they can watch for free and bitcoin will make it even harder.
Maybe just using ads or cpa would work, and also you will get blacklisted by google, so you need to rely on other ways to drive in traffic.

OP, your only investment is time and servers. I'm sure you will make profit! You can also find credit card processors. Just look at replica websites. Good luck and keep us posted, once in a while!

Best model would be have a freemium version with paid subscription to remove ads. I dont see people buying paid subscription straight off the bat when your website is very new. Your competition is not netflix or amazon, it is other pirated websites. You have to differentiate your service from other ones out there to make people pay for it. Just removing ads won't be enough for sure. Only accepting BTC is a bummer.

That would the real-deal, does that exist? A payment gateway that would not give my details when legally forced?

I'll start adding ads, but it's gonna take some work time, and research. In the meantime I'll observe how it goes without.

What i know is if you receive DMCA google gets a notice of you and once you receive too many DMCA's it can lead to your website being removed from google.
I don't know if this is all the information but it is possible.
