Elon Musk VS Jeff Bezos

Jeff Bezos.

It's hard to deny the success Amazon has, and the amount of people they are helping all over the world.

You guys should stop looking at these kind of entrepreneurs.

They are in the ultra miniority.

Elon is highly unusual. Most engineering minds don't make good entrepreneurs.

Look at other less known people in the $50 to $500 mil range. Pick random SaaS companies and google their founder, then study their mindset and how they did it.

Ie, just because Jordan Belfort took copious amounts of drugs every day and made millions doesn't mean you can replicate that.

Try Jeff Lawson, founder of Twilio. Just search for SaaS companies or pick an industry you like, and look up the founders/CEOs. You'll start to see much more consistency with how they think/work than outliers like bezos and musk. Gates is also an outlier. He's a techie/geek. But for him it was the right place at the right time. He has other qualities, but most people with his kind of mindset don't make good entrepreneurs. His success was more to do with the people he got lucky enough to find himself surrounded by. Ie, Steve Ballmer. Look at Steve's latest company. Steve doesn't code. He is not a tech. But he knows how to build a team of amazing people and solve problems with them.

You don't make money by being smart or skilled. You make money by being the dumbest guy in the room. If you aren't the dumbest guy in the room. You really ARE the dumbest guy in the room ;-)

You need to be the dumbest, but the most high energy/fearless guy though. Note, I'm not saying it's better to be dumb. I'm saying you want to be the least smart person on your team.

Ah, ok. Point noted about space tourism.

In that case, i'm not going to lie, I find musks antics a liability to his own business ventures as far as image goes at least.

Based on that, If i'd use something like ymyl to make a decision for something like this, at this point, i'd have to go with bezos. Since Musk likes to be the poster boy of all of his own stuff, his behaviour makes me feel he's too negligent and unconcerned for something like moon landings. I'd have greater trust in anything bezos puts forward in this case definitely.

Elon all day.. the man is a gift to humanity from the universe.
Thats a meme you know. I mean i like the man despite everything i think hes not a bad person at core, but he is no superhero. Not even close. Even though he has a very different personality from Jeff, practically he is a lot more similar to Jeff Bezos than you think, beyond the billions i mean.

Despite everything he's not bad at core? Damn, the guy's pretty amazing compared to most people... works like a slave and has created multiple billion dollar businesses, and doesn't do it just to become mega rich, but starts businesses that he believes will have the most positive impact on the future of humanity.

If you can name another person with even close to his level of success that also creates businesses to better the future of humanity I'll eat my hat.

He's not a superhero, but he's the closest thing humanity's got to having one. If the world had more Elon Musks I'd feel a lot better about things.

Elon legitimately seems like he is trying to change to world for the better, Jeff on the other hand is more like a supervillain

Also it's not about space tourism, it's about London to New York in 30 minutes or less.
