Is movie reuploading still worth it in 2020?

Judging by your level of English, no. You can be fined / sued and do time. Not worth it.

I'm living in a third-world country that does not really care about copyright strike.

Any examples of this? I found a few cases but these people were uploading, charging subscription fees, etc

You can have a streaming movie site, embed them only - no need to re-upload shit and get sued.

Off-shore hosting
Don't share your personal info
Always use a proxy/vpn

Not so dangerous anymore, though, there's always a risk.

Actually it is dangerous.

Many streaming sites in Russia are backed and supported by Casino websites, which are majority held by big mafias. People who manage movie sites basically have nothing to lose and/or have no other way for income.

Just curious, mostly since I've done it in the past.
The risk will always be there, but could be mitigated. If you could find a way to conceal your identity, you should be good. Stealth PayPal and bitcoin is what most guys use. I'd love to do this someday, as well. I just love the adventure. he he!

I mean... there's a lot of aspects to the opsec you would have to keep this operation "not so dangerous" as you say. Such as tumbling BTC before buying your off-shore hosting etc.
And if your opsec is that much for that small amount of profits, you might as well do something more blackhat in my opinion

A guy from Sweden got caught for running a site like this a couple years back, got hit with a huge lawsuit. Swefilmer it was called, I guess you could google it and translate the articles about him. He used great OpSec from what I've heard, yet got caught.

I looked him and translated a few articles, but I couldn't find anything about his opsec - I want to know more about that.

But yes, it's dangerous worldwide - there's pretty much no where you can go to escape from copyright law and India/Russia/China are being policed harder now and the cops are working closer with the US copyright cartel, so it's very risky no matter where you go.

It's also a very saturated market.

Thanks for the replies guys. Let me clear something first though, what I meant by reuploading here is not really "owning a movie site" but rather become an uploader to movie sites. To tell the truth, Corona hits my business pretty hard just like million other and currently I'm in a bit of pinch financial-wise, so I'm kinda cornered to try any and every ways to make money online just to stay afloat.
