Haha! This is so true! Anyone can sit on their butt and give advise. I believe that's the easiest job there is, and that's why there are motivational speakers everywhere.
Nothing beats getting ones hand dirty, and learning from your own experience, or from the experiences of people who are already into what you are pursuing.

I don't mean to imply that this guy does that, obviously, he's quite successful. And I did listen to his entire podcast last year and to be honest, it's just a bunch of mostly generic things that are hard to implement specific, they are too broad. I think they would be only useful to very few people who already have a particular mindset about doing things. Give these general principles to some newbie who wants to start some sort of business but doesn't know how or what to do, not even on how to do his research if there is any demand and he'll just sit there without understanding how and where to apply those principles.

Totally agreed here, but that doesn't mean one shouldn't share his knowledge. The newbie you talking about will eventually find his way, you gotta start somewhere...?

True, motivation will get you started and habits (hopefully if you develop positive ones) will keep you going.
