I have used https://github.com/hartator/wayback-machine-downloader several times successfully without any issue. And its free. Only problem, you will need something like notepad++ to identify and reemplace broken links

After 2 weeks, I always want to tinker, so that is when I start on the site design work, or pull together content. It gets harder as the weeks drag on, but its worth the wait!Thanks, there is likely lots of other little things I forgot, nothing big or important to the process, just helpful shortcuts or tools I use. Firstly, changing the sites language is fine, especially if the domain you have found is brandable, much like changing niche. Foreign language Google is quite forgiving as foreign language sites, or country specific sites, tend to have links from all over the place. The problem with changing language is that the old content is obviously in the wrong language. So this is what I have done in the past.
Auto translated site
This might only end up being 80% right, from a translation perspective, but you need to remember that Google's algorithm only needs to be fooled enough to pass the authority and juice back to the domain. So it does not need to be perfect.
Hand picked translation
If the expired domain is something I really care about, it is an absolute gem, I am prepared to put in a little more work. So what I do is translate the pages which have the decent links, bin the rest of the content, and create a few other filler pages. So basically I have a small rounded out site ready to age.
Tip: Expired content hack
I use a LOT of expired content on my sites. So more often than not, I will search archive.org for expired content in the language I want which covers the topic of either the page I want to keep or the site in general. I then just check the content with copyscape and if unique I reuse on the expired domain and leave to age.
I can't be arsed method
This method is simple. I don't do anything, I simply restore the domain as I initially described in the guide, then when it has KW's ranking and links showing in GWC, I bin the old content, add in the new language specific content and change the juicy pages to the language I now want the site to be in.
I have done this multiple times and it has worked just fine, but it really does depend on how valuable the expired domain is to me. i.e. do I 100% want to get it right and reuse, or is it just a nice to have.

I do tend to be a little more wary of Google than is absolutely necessary, but I have learnt the hard way, so I am now more cautious, especially as decent expired domains are very hard to find nowadays.
All I am bothered about is the link juice. I very rarely redirect the pages to the homepage, and far more often leave the juiced up pages either as they were, or if I want to be slick, I rewrite them so they are slanted towards my new niche domain. Effectively, I want Google's algorithm to be happy to automatically pass the juice, because the pages are relevant to the linking article/domain, and I want to pass manual review if that ever comes up.

Truth to be told adding the PBNs to the console is kinda useless. Whats the point? Google may or may not show all of the old links, regardless of their authority - literally zero correlations between ranking and if the link is visible in the console - you can see massive boost from link that did not show up in the console, ever. The rest of the guide is good.

At this point you no longer need the old content, so now you can now bin (trash) it, and add your new money site content.
At this point, the old pages with the backlinks that give the domain authority.

Do you think there’s 0 value in a straight 301 redirect if you don’t restore content at google eyes first?
I opted for 301s in the past, as I’m a bit lazy and it sounded cheaper and quicker than restore, host and treat it as PBN.
Actually I see the old backlinks in GSC of my money site after few months of redirection.

Is there any way to check if the domain was ranking in the past for those content? If it is a recent one, I can probably look over SEMrush but for domain 5-6 years old, how to know if they were ranking domain or else all the effort of restoring content will fail. If it could not rank that time with those content, then in today date, it will never
