What's working in SEO 2020?

Hey,
I thought we need to discuss about what's working in SEO, 2020?

I will start with some questions -
  1. Guest Posts v/s PBNs - Which one is the best? Or, should you use both?
  2. KGR Keywords v/s Low competition Keywords
  3. Expired Domains v/s Auctioned Domains v/s New Domains
  4. How should you start a niche site, in 2020?
Would love to get some answers.

I know, some of these are pretty basic questions, but people do ask those.

I'll say on my personal experience:

1. Guest Post (HQ Link from a good traffic site)
2. Starting with LCK
3. Doesn't matter much (Any domain is fine)
4. Niche - depends on targeted audience and find the trending items in it.
 
1) use both add niche edits too but remember use quality ones over quantity
2) low comp words are always a hit
3) depends on what you’re trying to build, if it’s a new brand go for a new domain
4) reading journey section of BHW, old seo guides, selecting what you feel you’re passionate about or buy from sellers two i know are @khiladi and @kasabian21 theyre selling nice niche sites (I’m not vouching for them but they already have covered the work so have a look)
 
1. Both, first PBN and then guest post.
2. Low competition keywords.
3. Expired or Auction domain with good links profile.
4. Start with good keyword research.

But, I think auctioned/expired domain can give a pretty fast "out of the google sandbox" Period.

3. Any domain if it suits the website and expired domain don't have any penalty or is cleaned in wayback machine.
4. Every sites starts from choosing the niche, keyword research and adding the good quality content and then OnPage. Niche should be selected upon the interest of the person, so that he/she will continue work on it.
 
1. Guest Posts v/s PBNs - Which one is the best? Or, should you use both? I'd rather use both of them, PBN being my first priority and next comes guest posting. PBN's are a great way to boost your ranking for a short while, but after all a PBN should not be spammy. Talking about guest posts, it's a really great way to build up your link profile and boost your site. I believe Google is trying to figure out if a specific site is really paying for a guest post, we'll know in the future though.

2. KGR Keywords v/s Low competition Keywords: I'll always start with ranking low competition keywords first rather than depending on KGR keywords, I believe KGR keywords are the best when your site is actually out of sandbox period and is ranking for lots of keywords.

3. Expired Domains v/s Auctioned Domains v/s New Domains: It does not really matter, although I believe auctioned domains can give you a head-start since they might be out of the sandbox period so you can immediately start ranking for any keywords. The thing with expired domain is that once it's expired, Google again treats it as a new site but the benefit here is that you might already have a good backlink profile.

4. How should you start a niche site, in 2020? Google has been making a lot of changes to their algorithms, maybe the old tricks to grow your site won't even work anymore. The usual "white-hat" method is to create content, research low competitive keywords, diversifying your backlink profile, off-page SEO, etc...honestly speaking, if a niche that you select is saturated then researching low competitive keywords becomes really hard since 50-70% of the sites might be targeting the same keywords you may have researched (this is where LTK comes in), so I guess if you do want to start a niche site in 2020 then you have to find a low competitive niche and use social media traffic to boost your conversions.

1. Both PBN and Guest post, prefer quality one.
2. Low competition keyword.
3. Expired domain with clean backlink profile.
4. Start with keyword research,optimize content for user intent, Long tail keyword,quality links,use social media and promote it.

What's working in SEO, 2020? From my experience, low competition keywords. I think a lot of people take keyword research for granted. Taking the time to find a bunch of low competition keywords on your niche will mean lower costs on your overall link building costs. One tool in particular that i recommend and one that i have seen great success with in this regard is kwfinder (just put in the seed keyword and you might be astonished by the number of related keywords that might pop up and those ones that barely no other site is targeting in their intitle as well as incontent).

While Ahrefs is a great tool to have in your arsenal, i've found it to be quite unreliable when it comes to keyword research. The keyword difficulty and their volumes are usually either overestimated or underestimated. It's, however, a great tool if you are looking at other aspects such as competitor research, guest blogging opportunities and link building opportunities.

Finally, don't rely on guest posts alone (these can easily eat into your budget and might not provide you the kind of push you might be looking for. Build your own PBN! You can easily build a network of 10 sites with as little as $200. I think there is a guide here for that.

Quality guest posts are better than quality PBN's, so outreach is key to 2020. Niche edits should also be considered, but again, the focus is quality not quantity.

2. KGR Keywords v/s Low competition Keywords

Low comp every day of the week for me. Start with low comp and build up as the site gains authority.

3. Expired Domains v/s Auctioned Domains v/s New Domains

You cannot beat a quality auction domain, the question is, can you afford it? I use both expired and new domains. If I use expired, I age them to resurrect their quality links in GWC, then build on them. I get MUCH better results working this way.

4. How should you start a niche site, in 2020?

Very much depends on the niche and difficulty. I would always say take it slowly and concentrate on consistency in terms of link building and content publishing. You can go faster, but again consistency is key.

1. Both.
2. Keyword are keywords. Some are more competitive, some less. What you go for largely depends on your budget for links, in-depth niche research, competitive analysis and optimization signals.
3. New or Auctioned. Expired are hit & miss.
4. Sure, or buy a small one. FB groups are great for that. I already saw quite a few disgruntled amazon affiliates putting their sites up for sale due to the f*cked comissions. You can snatch up some nifty little sites for less than 1k.
