I think we should delete old BSTs from the forum.

Why?

Put simply, they provide non paying members and former members with links to their services (direct webpage links and order forms). If non paying members cannot do this, why do we allow former paying members to compete with us?

How do the mods phrase this - taking money from the pocket of paying members.

But these BSTs are not active, so why get rid of them?

Beyond what I said above, they constantly come up in search results. Buyers then click on the text or image link, go offsite and buy the service...

That is not fair to those of us that pay to be on BHW.

In review

Old BST's which have been closed for 6+ months because the member is no longer a paid JR VIP are still coming up in search results and taking money out of paying members pockets.

Sort it out please!

Far as I understand the BST's are kept online for recordkeeping in case someone complains in the future.
Their links could still be taken off, although it involves manual work. :)

Yeah but I assume OP's complaint has to do with search.

Perhaps adding a noindex tag to expired BST's?

They do not have to be visible to the public to be kept for recordkeeping purposes and shitlists.

A lot of people also use the search function within BHW. Unless there is the facility to noindex on BHW also. I know that this is fairly simple in IT terms but not sure if the forum software used by BHW has this capability.

People will still click them lol. I am sure there are lots of visitors who don't register here. They just come through google search and click on the landing page linked in bst. Imo, @fasttrak has the best solution for that. Just take it off of public view.

Every now and then they remove hundreds of BST's. It's done in batches.

You mean people are ordering without contacting the OP first.

I have certainly done that dozens of times. Especially when I was new to BHW. I read the sales pitch, looked at the 1st two pages of comments and clicked the link through to the order page.

You could automate that fairly easily.

Maybe the old threads can be stored in a database of some sort for record keeping and it can be referenced if there is a complaint in the future?

Just an idea.

Worst case scenario is a simple query to pull them into a separate DB for later. But I don't imagine that the old BSTs are taking up that much room in the BHW live DB anyway. So making them No Show/invisible/ghosted should not be an issue and provide quick recall if needed by the Mod team at a later date.

Deleting , deindexing threads of non jr vip members or threads that are closed six months back is a great idea. If a JR.vip member wants to reopen the thread then when he pay the thread price it can be restored or reindexed.

Also for complaints and shit-lists a time frame should be fixed like 6 months or one year or life time should be considered as 2-3 years for a link that is cheap or low cost.

Note: suggestions are for BSTs only

Couldn't agree more.

That's not something Damien wouldn't consider, as the old bsts are indexed pretty well in Google and if these are hidden / removed from public view, he will lose revenue.

However, I second this request :)

I think mod should leave the message on the top of BST "The member is no longer active on BHW use this service at your own risk" that it..
