Virus removal

So I recently downloaded quasar rat crackled from git hub and it was a virus, the virus removed the possibility of accessing wifi/internet, removed sound seems to be blocking factory reset does anyone have any idea on how to fix those

You mentioned, it's a school laptop. Can you install applications on it? If yes, download Malwarebytes on another machine and use a flash drive to install it on yours.

Frankly speaking, there is only one way to really reset it. FORMAT it (copy your data to a second disk first).

If you need your data, put into secondary disk and retrieve it using a middleware pc (running *nix, if you are serious). Be careful of what data you carry forward. Just take essential.

Lots of users will tell you to do bla bla, and bla. Those do not work. Trust me, I have been a hacker first hand.

The only safe route is formating it, I would not even copy any data unless absolutely necessary.

I'd format, if I were you. Save what you want to keep, to an external drive, and don't plug that drive into your formatted machine UNTIL you put protection on it.

Even those are child's play. Just change some variables and algo, and your virus is undetectable. Anti virus software looks for known hashes. They are just the first line of defence, and do not work if some hacker really targets someone.

I am gonna take a blind shot and will declare your Windows to be broken/Corrupted because these viruses are tooo hard to remove.. but good luck man!

like LukeMathews said , boot it in save mode u gonna have control then run Antivirus , if u can't install antivirus try manually remove all program run in startup : (startup folder , services ,..) , or at least copy your data then format it , (if u copy your data make sure to not access to it until u have antivirus in your Os)

Yes, but you can install/run a removal tool from an external drive. Malwarebytes has a portable version, if you don't want to/can't install it. Boot into safe mode and do a full system scan with it. In the vast majority of cases it removes the infection. If not, you need to reinstall the system, but i'd try to repair it first.

Quasar rat is a well known open source RAT and that looks like the correct link. If you dont know the difference between open source and cracked then maybe you should not be playing with RAT's as theres not a chance in hell you would compile this yourself to get it past AV.

If you actually managed to build a client from that github link and run it on the laptop then just delete the file (default name is client.exe). However any av would have picked this file up easily and quarantined it so my guess is you didnt even get that far and fucked up some network settings while you were being the clever leet hacker. So you need to be booting in safe mode and rolling back windows a few days using system restore.

Better yet follow the advice in this thread and reformat that school computer and then return it

I'd be more worried about personal information/accounts. Your school won't be happy if you silently starts spaming other systems, ending up on blacklists etc. start changing your passwords.
