It's Google's Broad Core Algo Update for Sept 2019

waiting to see what will happen in the next few days. Hoping for the best

Alright I have a theory.

Google doesn't announce updates.

When they do, there's something going on.

I think Google let out a tracer bullet several days before the actual update to test some reaction from the SEO dick suckers on Twitter and Facebook.

Could be:
  • Testing if the SEO tools "detect" updates by hand (I think they do, they're manual BS not real detection).
  • Testing some reaction like site changes made after a update announcement
  • Observing link structure changes based on the update announcement
  • Observing instantaneous ad revenue before and after the update announcement
There's something more going on. There was no major update.

Do I think Google is lying? No. I think there WILL be an update but they released the news several days early to test some hypothesis.

Again: they have zero interest in announcing updates beforehand.

I'm seeing a boast in certain posts. Had a bit of a dip on September 13th and 18th but quickly went back to the same levels and from 23rd it's been climbing in general especially some content (more KWs and ranking higher).
Note: this is a new site!

Define new please.

We have lost about 30-40% traffic in the June update. But now it is recovering or so it seems. It is like a roller coaster now. Throughout the year you will have some months high traffic and some months low.

I see one site slowly going down after it tooks weeks or months to get up to position #5 - #3. This happened a few times before in the last 2 years. While the SERP tracker shows this:

mUF5L6r

Other sites no changes as far as I can see.

Let's see what's happening in the upcoming 2 weeks.

Absolutely no changes on any of my sites. No movement up or down, just standard fluctuations. I have sites that were hit in June, still the same, new sites (6 months, 9 months, 12 months), still the same, old sites (3 years+), still the same.

Only thing I have noticed recently is that some content is taking longer to index than before. i.e. if I create 5 pages for a site in one day, instead of <24hrs for all to index, 1 page might take several days, the others <24hrs. Regardless of if I submit them to GWC or leave for natural indexing - Not exactly a biggy, just different compared to 3 weeks ago.

Wouldn't mind the sites hit by the June update to come back, as they are quality sites and I miss the affiliate income.

seeing fluctuations on one of my site on keywords which are on 20+. They are dropping and coming back with changes everyday. Lets wait for the rankings to stabilise

no big change here, but seems google removed zero pos from serp for many kw in my niche.... a good move... appreciated :D

One of my sites has jumped a great deal and traffic has improved greatly.

This is a site i have no love for so i've done zero work on it for a long time.

It took a hit on a previous update and it seems to have bounced back now.

The only changes i can really think of is poor PBNs have slowly died out over time.

My guess its a reversal for a smack it previously took.

My biggest site lost 35% of its traffic overnight.
No shady SEO, everything white hat.

Really hoping this is temporary, otherwise I'm in big trouble :(

+100%
