Why BHW was defaced to TheL3vel.net?

they are stupid for defacing the link in a redirect to their forum as it enabled me to join their crappy forum and place scripts that are sleepers in their forum, can't wait to see their faces when they start to take affect.

I'm really glad to see the site back up. I lost count on how many times I tried to visit yesterday hoping it was back up again.

I was trying to get info on what happened and found lots of stuff on google about a few other times when something like this occurred. It's a shame and I was sad to see it. I am unsure how bad the hack was, but I know a simple mysql injection type hack can usually be fixed quickly by uploading a database backup. The site was down for a long time yesterday and even as I post this still seems to be having issues (user cp brings up a database error) so I can only assume it was much worse than that.

I hope I'm not over stepping my bounds by asking but are there any measures being taken to up the site/server security to help deter these frequent hacks?

With all that said thank much to those who worked to get the site back up online

edit: Sorry just wanted to also ask if the site was running on the latest version of VB? I think I saw something found on google that BHW was running on a beta and hence was easily hackable. The site footer here says v 1.4 and I think they are up to 3.x now. Please know that I don't mean to criticize just trying to help. Really sucks to see a great site screwed with. - Thanks again

I like others was refreshing a lot yesterday waiting for the site to come back up. In the meantime I checked out their board and not one of them can construct a sentence in plain English. Their command of the language is pathetic. It's a surprise they can construct a script at all.

They're kids with too much time on their hands. They like to destroy and annoy. Fine I say. That's how they get their kicks.

I for one am much more content being productive and (attempting) to make money.

Each to their own.


One thing is for sure though. It's probably not a good idea to piss off a community like BHW.

The lame ass kid who did this probably signed up to bhw, asked stupid questions and have been sent packing. Then he decided to deface bhw because of his frustration.
