I am selling my laptop and I had some sensitive information on its hard drives, It has 2 HDDs, How can I format it in a way that the new buyer not be able to recover any of my old datas.

Any data on SSD storages cant be recovered, right?

Pretty sure you can't, unless you take a drill and put a hole through the centre.

Use the boot image “DBAN”

That’s your best bet for wiping the data, even though it can still be recovered big G and other data centers just destroy old drives, as it is the only way to 100% prevent the data from being accessed.

You have to continually rewrite over the drive x amount of times until the information becomes irretrievable. There are like 7 different layers of formatting for a hard drive, the 7th being NSA-Grade data wipe. There are professional software that you can buy they can handle it for you, or you can take it to a professional to be done. Lastly, put the drives in the in incinerator, nothing says destroyed like physically destroying them.

Put it in a pre-heated oven at 220°C and cook for 15-18 minutes.

Make farming gausa at least 33 times at least, and this is not a joke, but the best option is complete physical destruction

Try installing a fresh OS
During installation, there is an option
Advanced mode
Custom Mode

Choose custom
Select drive (if you have multiple partitions like C, D, E ...)
Manually select every partition & select delete
When you are done
You will have unpartitioned raw HDD/SDD
Create a new partition with new size (if you have C drive sized 200 GB make it 220 GB or 190 GB) & go on
Hope it will solve your problem.

If you have sensitive information on your laptop, than why would you sell that? For like 2-3 houndrets of dollars you risk it? Simply use it till you can, or give it to a family member as a present, or take a hammer, and realese your stress.

I got you fam

You`ll need to do a FULL erase and format couple of times in a row. There are plenty of software that can do this just search the net for it.
Other easy way is to just trow it out the windows and buy a new hdd.

This is such a childish method)))

Formating once, or a dozen times, does little to nothing. Formating zeros the first bit of some length of data, leaving the remaining data intact.

BleachBit. Make sure to check off everything.

It'll take a few hours, but no one will be able to recover it.
