Another Google Update on It's way

When you are good at SEO you have nothing to worry about..

Major Google updates rebalance the main ranking factors that webmasters have built up over the years. Even a slight shuffle can cause massive tremors and it's not like you can undo the damage within a few days or even months as you have built up these factors over the course of a few years.

As someone who is about to launch a new site, I would really like to know the new guidance regarding SEO after this update.
I’m one of those who don’t think that there is such thing as “white hat SEO” because all SEO are black hat as it meant to trick the SERP.

And for those who claim not to rely solely on Google for traffic, I want to know: do you use social media then or forums?
Because not everybody can spend money on ads, so what are the other sources of free traffic you use then?
On the BH side, I would recommend the 'parasite' approach as the new Web 2.0 (if you pick the properties that Google doesn't penalize, they work better than traditional Blogger et al subdomains). As for WH, using both social media and forums are also recommended, especially if you concentrate on the ones with higher traffic.

In general, it's preferable to select urls to place your backlinks that already have real visitor traffic to build rank, for example from guest posts (to save money, stick with free guest post sites that have Alexa ranks under 200,000, as that will screen out the PBN sham guest post urls).

Another source for good ranking in 2019 are 'aged' contextual links on sites that have real traffic---if you can get a webmaster to update an existing page (that has high metrics) to put your link on it for a one time fee (say $100 or so), that's arguably better than buying an expired domain for PBN purposes and maintaining it for $100 or more per year (registrar fee and hosting).

Holy shitttttt i wake up and check my ahref and
This is way beyond my expectation !!

Checked on most of my sites with keywords I totally care for and there is just a slight change of ranking up and down for some keywords.

I checked on some keywords I ranked for which is totally not related to my site and they all went 2 to 3 pages down.

Good luck to all the SEO experts and agencies trying to explain why the traffic of their customers websites decreased suddenly. Of course you can tell them "there has been an update", but they want you to explain it. They want you to fix it. You can't fix something when you have no idea what just happened. Google saying "there will be a core update" OK, but what exactly is going to happen? The most people doing SEO got some "???" in their eyes right now.

Right now the people trying to tell us what is going on are just fake gurus or wannabe experts. Only Google knows.

Great advice.
Thanks.

Traffic dropped. Again, Google wants to rank authority sites even though their content is outdated.

Google just Pre-announced an algorithmic update. It will be releasing another broad core algorithm update tomorrow.

Please do let me know if anyone knows in which category google hits the most.

Traffic increased over here. I don’t do linkbuilding anymore and focus on quality content + basic keyword research. Seems to work for me but it takes time.

The potato example is a really good. I see results only partly matching the query for many searches in certain niches, while Google identified the search without a flaw before these core updates. The new AI seems to have a lower IQ or simply gets the search intent wrong sometimes.

These are seriously bad search results. I'm searching in English, it's showing random Argentinian SERPs mixed with English.

There is no reason to show me local or Spanish results for this query. I'm not in Argentina and not in a Spanish speaking country.

Seeing this same issue with German results mixed in English results for another niche.

This is bad.

Of course cuil was tongue in cheek. Everyone remembers the hilarious cuil search results right? "How many cuil?"
