Godaddy offering 99c .com domains but everyone on the internet say to avoid them and they are scammers.

I have 6$ and I want a .com domain and hosting, can I just get a domain from Godaddy then transfer it on namesilo ? What's the procedure to do that, how much time does it take, is it free, what should I watch out from ?

Tell me your suggestion to have a website running asap with this money, thank you.

If I'm not mistaken its $.99 on the first year when you register for 2 years.

if you don't want to go with Godaddy there is 1&1 have a 1.00$ domain name, check namecheap as well!

If this is your first time buying a domain from godaddy then use this coupon "CJCRMN2CP" you will get your domain for $1.75, for 1&1 you would need to have a Canadian card.

Godaddy is fine for domains. I have dozens of domains there for years and never had any problems. Just be prepared for their expensive renewal rates! Also private registration is an additional fee. Don't use them for hosting, they suck at that.

If you want free private registration, use Namesilo instead. Their renewals are quite cheap. They also have domain defender so less risk of having your domain stolen.

For cheap hosting, try Buyshared or Namecheap.

Actually buddy, Getting a domain at .99c is fine. I booked 2 domains from them. Guess what my both account were locked and they were asking for payment method verification. They were my fake account and I won't even get my domains back. Buddy you won't know when they hit u back. So just be prepared. And saving 1-2$ doesn't make any sense when you gonna pay more for that same thing again. Just avoid them. Please. Namecheap works really well for me.

you can buy domain .com for $2 here p-store.net. its an indonesian marketplace for virtual product, but u can pay with paypal or cc. the downside is seller will process ur order after he/she online sometimes took a day to process the order, and you buy with 3rd party, so the 3rd party or the seller will know ur domain name. hope this help.

I'm a total newbie at domains and hosting, from what I gather (from Reddit) Namesilo looks like the best option for me. They have .com domains at 5.99.
Now once I buy the domain is there any free / free trial / 1$ hosting I could use ?

search on other website .. maybe you get a great deal.

Don't like them. High renewal fee, private protection price is outrageous and it doesn't work well etc. The only thing worth to consider is an auction. But this is only if you want to buy old domains. You can use name.com or namecheap instead.

if you buy domain for 2 years then only you will get that for 0.99 for first year

If you want a domain for low price, then consider other extensions like .xyz. The .tk domains are free if you are low on budget or just testing out. Get a temporary domain name like tk and spend the savings on a better hosting. You won't regret it.
GoDaddy charges $0.99 for first year for a 2 years registration. They will recover money from you through renewals. Even if you want to transfer domain, you need to purchase 1 year registration from new registrar. Don't expect .com domains to be cheaper as they advertise. Also checkout social media profiles to see if your preferred domain name is available. For example, if you register bhw.com, then 'bhw' should be available on fb, twitter, IG etc. Otherwise, you have to settle for bhw on fb, bhwOfficial on twitter and bhw1 on IG etc. They won't look like official accounts.

How many .xyz or .tk domains you have seen in the top? For testing I agree, but for the main site seriously doubt about "You won't regret it."

OP won't get a main site in 6$ either.

If you're starting out GoDaddy are fine, especially with the 99c domain. Even their hosting is ok at a push if you are on a really tight budget.
Downside is they charge for privacy and their renewal fees are not the cheapest, so once you have the funds, switch to Namesilo ( as an example ).

If you are serious about getting to top, then better raise your budget as there are several other expenses after setting up the site. "You won't regret it" part was meant for choosing a better host. If you signup for a terrible host that takes 4-8 seconds to load page, then the chances of getting to top are slim.

Namecheap offers a good 8-12$ price, with free WhoIs and decent renewal rates, that can be brought down by coupons. Godaddy has so many fees that it is insane. I think Godaddy is 2-3x more expensive for the same products, with the same level of customer support.
