Science points to that there's nothing after death.

I don't feel so , I remember reading from somewhere , is not crap website " anyhow mention etc " even a lot Science website , books , find it interesting is when a person RIP , the is a slight decrease in mass. Some debate due to water or whatever whereas some claim Soul leave the body , thus this is why some claim there is life after death . We RIP , leave our physical body but we still alive in the sense become soul , can be any form , I feel perhaps the Space , earth till now still a mystery to us human to be frank , even with the technology we have now still cannot really figure out or even reach the deepest end of the the ocean or deep down the sea , ocean . This is why people say Earth , space is always a Mystery to us a live as human same for death. To frank , sadly my dad pass away last year. this make me wonder really for life after death ? or that it is the end. Religion stuffs one thing coincidence the same, is on death despite the teaching , views on various Religion is different. DO NOTE I not or want to bring in Religion stuffs , I just comment as a FAIR comment etc , ONE THING IS MANY THINGS ARE COINCIDENCE which what amazed me. Christian , Buddhism , etc etc you see When come to death , they all have the SAME thoughts and theory .

Yes this is why people say cherish what you have now , your parents , your close ones because everything in this world will come to the end , when we are talk about a life , a living thing. Same apply for your pets.

This reply is a cop-out. It makes it sound like both are equally likely. They aren't. We have no evidence to suggest something(of our consciousnes) exists after our brains stop functioning. We have loads of evidence that suggests that damaging the brain changes us in fundamental ways(personality, likes and dislikes, etc).

Knowing this, it would indicate that a soul is not composed of our personality or likes and dislikes and other fundamental things which define us.

So knowing this, can someone please define what a soul is and how it relates to my current me and do I get another soul if I get brain damage?

well , what some claim for those believe there is life after death , Your brain , organs , body ..just a shell for your Soul. When body get age , organs slowly can;t function naturally aka death BUT your Soul still alive and leave the physical body. So you will not have brain damage .

i remember reading this somewhere as well. i think i remember seeing it was like 6 grams lighter or something, but the test was way back when and some debate the accuracy of test.
the more i learn, the more i become agnostic. but one thing i feel will most likely happen is that in our lifetime, A.I. will improve and become god-like in its abilities, allowing us to do with what we want...upload our conscious, live, whatever etc.. with what i know now, im 19, but this is what i feel will most likely happen.

That which was born will die. That which was not born will never die. The key is to realize that you are not merely this flesh and this personality. That you are the awareness itself. Does that awareness have any shape or form? Was it born? Who am I truly?

Pure awareness is the Unborn and it keeps going. The goal is to realize this before you die. Contemplating this things is very healthy and can lead to a truly fulfilling life. Such is the way of the sages. This why peoples have searched for enlightenment, self-realization amd liberation for thousands of years. Many have found it. Buddha has found it. We all have that capacity, but very few actually make any effort in this direction. To truly succeed mind and thinking about is not enough. Effort is not enough, divine grace is required. One has to stop the mental chatter, dive deep into the Heart and realize that which unmoving, unchanging reality, that which observes all the change.

If you think a bit about it, it would be too simple if the death was the end. Maybe I am wrong, but what sense would it make it living life, running for money, sex or fame and then just die?

3. Life after death --- same as above.
4. All the other stories that billions of people who walked the earth claim as "truth" "facts" but in reality were never ever verified, unverifiable, or just pure you-know-what stories. --- same as above.

The probabilities of 1,2,and 3 being true or false are 50%.

For number 4 however, the probabilities of all those numerous unverified claims of ever being factual is almost 0%.

Don't get me wrong. I believe in God, and I pray, but that's it. I just feel like I'll be insulting Him if I believe all those stories.

As far as I know, after physical death (for example, cardiac arrest), the brain can exist for another couple of weeks. When you die, you seem to see and hear everything. This is indicated by those who survived clinical death. And so it may be 2 weeks, until the brain cells finally die out. But nobody knows what will happen to you with your soul

well even the brain cell alive the Soul already leave the body . Yea according to nurse , doc , scientist , they have experience and monitor before those patients who sense their time is up kinda already know is coming on the bed is like they seem already been noticed , what they think or refresh back can be what they have done in his life times , their love ones , before the heart stop beating.
