I'd think Most likely someone with huge social media presence and a lot of friends influencers started it and it just got shared around by all the biggest instagram accounts probably for free.
 
It was started on reddit and facebook. And it got scared just for the lols. And now he's a guaranteed millionaire who ever made this.
 
Idk how they did it, but the snowball effect is in action now cuz I saw this on the news today. Apparently Kylie Jenner mentioned this acc too.
 
Sometimes all it takes is your post getting in front of one influencer and it takes off. In this case the account was innocent enough, and the idea insane enough, that everybody jumped on the bandwagon without having to worry about potential political backlash because they did not do enough research, as there was no research to do. It's just an egg.

Press release from the entire world will makes the IG keep increasing for the next years organic. Already 4m+ followers. And most of them know kylie jenner and or hate her. Thats why he's guaranteed millionaire. He can get so much for shoutouts on a non spammy IG with that much.

I'm quite curious how someone can actually make money off of this, let alone become a millionaire. I guess they can sell the account later since it has so many followers?

I can see where they could make money with the account as it has alot of followers, but I don't see where "instant millionaire" is anywhere in the program.

That doesn't make him a guaranteed millionaire.. far from it. He'll make good money from the account, but if he intends on seeing a million it wont be anytime soon. I've handled plenty of large accounts, and have years of experience in marketing on IG... sorry, I would have to disagree on him becoming a guaranteed millionaire.

Just the same as things go viral, they can fizzle out just as quickly.
 
So, it gets promoted by big influencers - why don't these same influencers promote themselves and grow as much, or more than the egg account?

And, the account gets IG verified (blue tick) within weeks, just because it grew to 4M?

There's something that doesn't pass the smell test there.
 
It's a viral post that's being posted all over the internet, news outlets, etc - it's all over the place. I give it a week or two before it fades out.

It could be an extra account where he changed the username and image that already had the check mark. And if my best friend and I have several IG accounts with 3-5 million followers, we would probably make a random account like this trying to see if we could get it to go viral haha.
 
The photo didn't even have 10 million likes like till yesterday. It got 10m likes because it went viral on Reddit and Facebook but it got like 25M+ likes in the last 24 hours because nearly EVERY news website covered this story. Now, this is a story people would definitely click and read. That much coverage gave the account free advertising too. This strategy built up on a whim was really ingenious. Now they literally have a high profile verified meme page with 5m+ active followers. If the owner uses it well, he doesn't have to worry about money for a long time. Also, they are selling the t-shirts for 15 euro so they gonna bank on that as well and they kept the merch for only 24 hours, wouldn't be surprised if they get >50,000 orders.

No, they got verified today only exclusively by Instagram when they crossed 18 Million likes on their photo beating Kylie's photo. I think they got the blue tick so fast as they now have the most liked picture with so many press releases, etc. Anyone with that much 'attention' would be approached, it's not just a matter of followers. There are so many accounts with less than 100k followers but they have the blue tick.
 
I really hope they take this account in a Lil Mayo direction, tons of different content ideas. Maybe develop a story where the egg watches his family die in war (aka being cracked into a pan), and then rolls away and goes around the world on crazy adventures like skydiving and swimming with the pigs in the Bahamas. Most importantly, the story needs twists, turns, emotion, drama, etc.
