Hi there as many of you know that i myself from India lived in Russia for a decade moved back to India living in a tier 2 city(max 1 Million population) in developed state in India ,though its a health capital of india ,everyday on the way to work i can see some road traffic accident ,someone barely alive struggling for life ,people taking photographs ,selfie and videos and sharing in social media and most does not care and driving forward (when i grew up it was different people were helping others if such incident always someone who is not educated road sweepers ,people who run small road side shop they are the ones who come forward and call the ambulance) and people who are educated(as they claim ) lawyers, engineers, architects none coming forward to help worst thing is they take videos but not helping.
I have lost my best friend in an accident a month back, all local whatsapp groups why people are so interested seeing a dead human or human who is struggling for life.just wanted to share this and post here how safe the place you live i mean when you are in Russia you just drive peacefully for whole night hardly you can see any accidents no big traffic People are helpful(Those babyzhki-old ladies are from soviet very strong and kind).

@pofigy im sorry for your mate. Its always hard to lose people you love and I lost quite a few already. I'm kind of a misanthropist and antisocial to some point because people behave like the ones you mentioned in your opening post. I try my best to see the beauty in everyone around me but most of the times I see shattered mirrors reflecting bits of lost souls

This happens in every third-world country. People talking photos of dead people to post on social media

This happens in every first world country as well.

This mentality is not only restricted in India, but it is everywhere these days. If you don't believe my words, look into the site called **removed** (google it, not gonna link it from here). People can have strange addictions. One of those is gore.

Those who do not help a person who had an accident are complete idiots who do not realize the fact that they could be in the same situation too. Indian law is much more easier these days for those who help these victims (Samaritan law or something.. i don't remember). So.. anyone reading this.. please help those people next time instead of taking videos..

It's not just like that in third world countries, things like that can be seen on a daily basis in Germany too, especially on the Autobahn or big cities. On the countryside, people seem to genuinely care about each other, but in Cologne (and Berlin, Stuttgart for that matter) you'll encounter countless nasty people who pull out their smartphones whenever a fight starts or someone jumps in front of the train and they wanna see the aftermatch.

But don't think too much of it. You seem like a kind soul, which is pretty rare. These days humans are bored to death and we live in the most peaceful time this Earth has ever seen, therefore we naturally strive to see the bad stuff, which includes gore. Just think of it like that. Back then we let gladiators fight each other for our enjoyment, it was normal to wake up to heads rolling in front of your door. It's pretty rare to see something like that these days, which is why bestgore, liveleak etc. are getting more and more popular.

You might think of it as deranged or disgusting, but that's just what we are.

Not really safe, 95% drives like crazy in my state. You cant even make them undestand.

I would say its much safer here than what you wrote. I have barely seen any of these accidents you wrote and even when they happen, people gather and start helping the effected person.

May be you are right,We are living in the most peaceful time when compared to previous centuries where massive blood has be shed ,I worked in a Emergency medicine department so most of times after accident the person is alive for couple of hours it takes long time to bring them to hospital by which they have massive blood loss or patient is in shock ,meanwhile they could have easily dialed a free number which service is available I have seen arguments like why dont you give way to ambulance who will pay if loss of pay slips ,I have never seen in my entire life someone who is driving a car gets down and helps ,or someone who is educated comes forward ,99% the road side shops those who sell flowers ,fruits ,those are the people who comes for help, back in Russia i had a friend from Germany he told me a incident which really made me wonder he lost his wallet on way to his home in train (he lived in a small town) when he came back to Russia ,he came to the same train station where in notice board they put his wallet in a plastic paper its been a week all the money he kept was there.May be too much population here which makes the people to be survival of fittest .hope someday we will find a solution.

Then you are blessed ,year back when you are on road its dangerous now a days when you get out of the street its dangerous ,past 2 months 11 puppies got killed by bikers ,just to show off in front of girls(they think so) they drive and crash on elders and puppies /dogs.Its about the parents who give 220 cc bike to a 8 year old kid and shows it proudly to friends that their son drives some 220 CC bike or some posh car at age of 8 or 9.
If some accidents happen they just pay 10,000-15,000 ($250) as bribe and gets out very easily no punishment for such acts thats sad.
I dont know anyone takes license by showing their skill to drive pay $50 (2500 rs ) for 2 wheeler $100 for four wheeler so on.

I'm also from India, the most worst people live here. They copy from western world and losing the culture. A selfish takes only selfies.

It's something like people see everyday and take it casual. At least as of today there are still some people to help out but worst is yet to come. India with unregulated population growth, people will soon become worst than sheeps .

China was in same situation but they have managed it well now they have good population control

The accidents which are taking place because of people being careless like taking selfies and all is their fault and irrespective of the place they are living at.

But we have evolved into something different back in the days someone come forward and helped ,i lived in other places still people who are doctors advocates steps out from car and helps people i never seen such thing in india for my entire life, every week or month some rich kid drives through some auto or rickshaw or someone sleeping in the roadside at least any one got punished, even they make movie on such stories and make money ,still indian parents are proud to give 2 wheeler to some 8 year old kid and none think its wrong.

Accidents are unavoidable and the worst thing is people around the spot. They are those people who just see what is happening around them but none of them come forward to help anyone.Even I am from India and the route from where i go to college is very dangerous.I have seen around 4-5 dangerous accidents near or around this junction.Quite sad as most are due to peoples carelessness such as speedy driving or wrong side.
Not only that the even crimes are committed infront of public that too on busy roads and people are scared to come forward even the policemen are scared.
I donno when would public come forward???
