Google organic traffic Question

alright so i have a question about gaining organic traffic. Lets say i have a website that is relatively new. i'm currently growing it out right now.

now lets say i create a new page. Great content, great images, proper SEO best practices and completely google compliant. Lets assume its a perfect little niche target page with no errors.

Now for the question.

Will I slowly begin to get small amounts of traffic by just launching this page, adding it to a sitemap and submitting it to google?

From what i understand. Google will index my page. and when a person searches for something similar google should show my page. Is this a correct way of thinking or am i off here?

I know that there might be better and more optimal ways of gaining traffic. I'm not interested in that. I'm just curios about this single method of gaining traffic and how that works. Is this a primary method of gaining traffic?

I'm guessing most people have a mixture approach of paid traffic vs organic. But my current plan is to keep spitting out good content, good articles and repeat this process until I have hundreds of articles, images and pages each drawing in little bits of traffic here and there.

is there any flaw in the logic with this approach or is this something that people are doing? Any insights and input would be greatly appreciated.

> Google analytics
> Sitemap
> robots.txt
Finish them all.

Now, If you want organic traffic focus on link building to rank on top with your keywords. Another way to drive traffic to share your links on social media.

You can rank high at search engine in low to no competition keywords using only content. (Depending on your content of course.)
But if you want to rank medium to high competition keywords (Which many people use to search), you need to do some off-page SEO.

so let me run this by you. here is my strategy at the moment.

Go to adwords and find a keyword or key phrase with low to no competition.

lets say "pineapple juice is my safe word" has a bit of traffic and no competition.

On my site i can either write an article with the key phrase in it.

Or i can create a post. think imgur or reddit. The post has a title, description, image, and commenting below.

For the post would it be enough to start ranking for key words. I currently have about 3k post pages like imgur does and i'm growing fast.

I have been looking around for popular topics and then trying to upload images with that structure. Title, desc, image, comments.

Would this be enough to start getting traffic from google? or do i have to do other stuff like pay?

The Competition metric shown in AdWords is in regards to advertiser competition, not search engine competition. It has nothing to do with ranking keywords organically.

What you're doing works in theory, but reality can be far different.

In addition to having SEO optimized content and targeting low competition keywords, you may still need to get good niche-related backlinks to rank. Even after doing this, there's no guarantee.

Remember, Google can do whatever it wants and sometimes it doesn't know what it's doing either. There's been plenty of algorithm updates that have caused websites that you would consider to be doing the "right" thing to tank overnight, like when RankBrain came about.

While it's great to focus on SEO and everyone should do it, by no means should it be your only focus.

If you choose low-competition keywords with somewhat volume, you should start getting traffic. However, there is an exact timeframe when you should see a boost in traffic. Depends on a lot of factors, including what you are targetting, what people are searching, seasonality, etc.

On a very basic level what you are describing is how it works. But to grow a blog successfully will require more understanding of what you are doing. You will need to learn SEO.

What about like bodybuilding.com or quora, reddit. Will links from these sites give me juice? Dont links in comments get a no follow preventing benefit from those sites?
