If you don’t get silly you don’t need an anti virus. I haven’t used one for a few years now and don’t have any problems. I reinstall windows once a year or so (windows will get slower no matter what) to keep my systems running as fast as possible.
1. Stop running Windows as administrator
2. Change default applications for .vbs, .bat, .ps etc files to open in notepad
3. You can use whatever AV you want as if something gets past 1 & 2 then chances are your AV won't help.
